I always punctuate correctly. Even on texts.
I've read a lot of stuff on this site saying that, when texting a girl, you shouldn't. People say it seems try hard, like you've thought about it too much, and not punctuating means there is more scope for ambiguity (e.g. whether a sentence is a statement or a question etc.)

How important do you think these things are within the game?

I always text properly because its easy, plus my blackberry spellchecks EVERYTHING.

and every girl I've ever texted replies with proper english, aside from the occasional 'u' and a few others.

well, its a personal thing, if youre that kind of person that sticks to grammar of course you shouldnt stop, in fact, youre right

but if you're not that kind of person you shouldnt make sure you're spelling everything right, its not something that you have to worry if you don't normally do anyway ;)

I'm pleasantly surprised with the responses so far. As I say I've read a few posts here advising the opposite.
I too have noticed that as I continue to text a girl without text speak, and with correct spelling and punctuation she starts to follow suit.

This is the right answer.

I always punctuate things correctly and use proper grammar, so when I text I do the same. If you don't spell correctly and use punctuation typically or speak well, then doing it in a text will seem out of place.

I think proper language is good, but I don't go ape shit about it.
I text with punctuation where it should be, and I haven't noticed anything untoward about it.

I like it best when the girls text me back with proper language, but it's not a big deal.
No ballistic approach to punctuation.



btw, why do women wear evening gowns to night clubs.... shouldn't they wear nightgowns ?

Well you spelled writing wrong..

What does this even mean? I dont really use proper punctuation, but im obsessed with proper spelling because Im bad at it and its a personal goal to spell better. I know grammar so I care less about it. Some people might care, most dont give a shit. I didnt know I had a sloppy personality tho! fuck

If it is consistent with your personality, the little effort that went into learning to write didn't go to waste, but will probably be seen as an indicator of higher status (being congruent is, anyway, and Proper writing can't diminish your value.)

I say it is good, so long as it is you, not you trying to impress.

Uh yeah. 'She' being the person you would be texting. I was generalizing.
