Ok guys, I've been thinking of an interesting opener I haven't read in the books yet and I think it'd work great. Incase you guys want to field test this. I will field test it when next time I go to a bar.

The Bilingual Opener (only for people that know how to speak 2 languages or atleast be able to recite a few lines)

I'm Korean so I would start as a FOB

Me: Ahn Nyoung ha se yo. *bowing* (Hi)

Her: Excuse me? uh hi?

Me: Hai! (strong accent, like "HAI YA!")

Me: Eerum mo eh yuh? (what's your name?)

Her: what?

Me: *pointing my chest scanning horizontally like a name tag*

Her: *response #1* My name? It's michelle

Me: Hi I'm OneTime nice to meet you (in a completely normal accent with a big smile)

Her: *response #2* I don't know what you're talking about.

Me: Jeeze, all I wanted to know was your name. (in a completely normal accent with a pout)

I'm thinking her initial reaction in her head would be like, "omg! thank god he was just joking, I couldn't do this all night!". Then she'd be kinda relieved and happy to talk to you since she god fooled. I feel that the initial panick and awkwardness she'd feel then going in to a laughter and relief state in less than a minute would put her completely at ease.

Tell me what you guys think.

hmm.. im also korean.. but i dont think i'd use something like this.. it would just be kinda weird for her.. she might just end up walking away.. you can also look creepy or just plain weird if you do it to her.. ultimately it might be a DLV im not sure.. but .. this is just what i think.. just throwing out an idea

This could work if the girl is in the right mood, but overall, it will mostly dive due to the fact that it is an opener that makes the girl uncomfortable. If she doesn't understand the context until a few seconds in, then it is too late because the initial reaction has already been judged against you.

The only way this can demonstrate value is if she speaks Korean or she recognizes it. Then it can work as a DHV in my opinion. The likelyhood of her knowing Korean in the US or Canada is like nil.

But you also said that you will keep an accent along, which I think kills it even more. Girls, or most do, like guys who can speak English clearly.

If you want to do this bilingual opener, use a common second language like Spanish or French. I know French and I know it has definitely worked for me, but not as an opener. More as a DHV later on.

I'm also now learning Mandarin, so that opens the door to many ladies. Hai4, Ni3 Hao3 Ma1?

Guys, actually I have used a routine close to that on an hired gun before. I don't understand any of the estern languages; here it goes:

Me: yanchunchinkun..(trying to sound Chinese or Japanese. Appologies to my western brothers)
HB: What?! (confused)
Me: Oh sorry, I thought you speek Japanese.
HB: Oh no (with a smile)
Me: Do you smile that often or it is my Japanese that's making you happy.
HB: (Another smile) What do I get you?

After making my order, I collected her number and we've been talking.

I think it worked good. It depends on the situation and application

Also tried the bilingual while on holiday in Ireland. I'm Swedish so as soon as there were blond girls, me and my wing would take turns to open with:

ME: Hej, är ni också svenskar? (Hi, are you also Swedish?)
HB: Excuse me?
ME: Oh, I'm sorry... I asked if you were Swedish.
HB: No, we're Irish.
ME: Hmm... I thought that real Irish girls had black or red hair. Yours is nice, but is it dyed?

The neg really got the conversation going so I'm definitely gonna use it as soon as I go on my next vacation.
