It sounds like your not dressing to your body.
Come on, Jurupa. That's far too vague to make use of. The only options I seem to have to disguise the narrow look from the side are either to wear long shirts or jackets that will hang down past my backside and therefore give the illisuion of shorter legs and a longer upper body. Or I can accept I will look narrow from the side, but make sure any shorter top I wear sits close to the body at the bottom.
I know what I said is vague, but I don't know what you look like physically.

The strange thing is that despite being on the slim side, I have a wiry build, which means my upper legs and backside are not small. I have to be able to show off my backside, as it is about the only asset I have got. If I cover it up with a long shirt people will naturally assume I am on the slimmer side and therefore have a flat butt, which is not the case.
One of the downsides of being tall is that you usually have to give up showing off some short of assets. Have you tried on different pants with different styles? As straight leg may not be the best fit for you. I know there is a website were you can order custom jeans from. I can't think of the name right now but if I find it I post the link to it. This website allows you to pretty much customize every part of the jean. The jeans are not cheap tho as I believe they run like $100 per pair.

Regarding my leg length, some people have longer legs and a shorter upper body, and vice versa. I am really trying to dress to my body type, but long legs in relation to the upper body length produces its own problems - especially from the side. I'm not sure a taller guy who has a more evenly proportioned upper body and legs can appreciate this.
Us tall guys tend not to have proportional bodies. I have "short" legs and a long torso, which presents its own problems as you can imagine. So I know the frustration you are going thru trying to find pants/jeans that fit.
