I spoke to my mates about my woes with the opposite sex (I'm a male, 22) and several people/forum threads elsewhere on the net have recommended this site to me. Obviously, this site must have some really good advice so I am now a new member.

What's more, my past in this area of my life (relationships, girls, etc) is far from perfect, so it will be really good to really get to share my troubles with people who have been in a similar situation and actually get some closure for once (or shall I say, four years on... this will make sense once I make a thread discussing my situation, which would be interesting if not long reading).

Also, anyone replying to this thread, any short anecdotes about how this forum has helped you?

I'm assuming looks, money, flash cars (as much as I like them) and muscles are not required when using advice from this site but all that is required is CONFIDENCE, right? I lack some of the other stuff - muscles, good looks (more average), etc.

Good looks aren't as important as being well groomed, showing that you take care of yourself, same goes for muscles, you don't have to be Rocky but you should lose the beer belly.
If you haven't read Neil Strauss "The Game" I recommend you do that, it is a good introduction to become a PUA, and goes through everything in a very entertaining way. Good luck.

its all important yes, but many my students dont have those qualities still they pick up the hottest ladies around the place all the time. its more about the personality than the looks, if you think this about *just the looks* you are wrong and far away.

once body language is changed, it self does a BIG DIFFERENCE.
