Out of all the first dates I've been on not once has it been to the movies. I've been to the movies as a second or third date, but that's so different because I already had my way with the HB. This time it's different, because the only time we ever talked face to face was back in high school a couple of years ago, and I randomly started talking to her last week on MySpace.

Exactly how do you go about playing game at the movies on the first date? If it helps at all we're going to see Gran Torinio.

Kino definitely plays a part at the movies. hand holding, playing with her hair, kissing...even head. it just depends. ha, i haven't gotten head from a girl in the movies since i was like 16 but it's always possible i guess.

It depends on what kind of game you're going to go with on this girl. As you have i'm sure concluded, you can't really talk during a movie, and if you feel that's important, then either skip the movie, or go to dinner first. very cliche and routine though, try thinking outside the box. i suggest maybe a live music event. which gives you the chance to talk, but also to shut up and enjoy the music and escalate kino through dancing or whatever you kids do at shows. It's also a much more fun environment, which translates to you being a fun person, ya dig?

Movies = lame first date.

Start somewhere else first, then move onto the movies. Like start at a book store, or the mall, or get some ice cream or a smoothie. Who really wants to sit in movie for 2 hours with someone you barely know?

Good Luck bro.

Bookstore is a great idea. Why? Because you can learn about the person a bit before you try to rub up on the girl, hold her hand and gives you plenty to talk about. Bookstores have magazines and coffee shops as well... Dinner and movie is soooo cliche, like you said. Why be cliche? Something different, like rock climbing, go carts, anything like that....

Rule #1 of going to a concert: never wear the bands t-shirt you are going to see. You look lame. Its like wearing an affliction shirt to a UFC event. thats a no no.

Rule # 2 of going to a concert: Leave the girl at home!

I think movies are fine, as long as the movie is one of several things you do in a night, and not the last thing either.

Movies to me just build nothing. What if after 20 minutes you decide you hate this person? Then you have to spend the next 2-3 hours with them... :shock: :shock: :shock:

I like the idea of making the first meet up a casual setting... then move on to the next spot, or if you two find each other disgusting, you can ditch each other and the whole night isnt ruined.

Other ideas, playing pool, window shopping at furniture stores or the mall, go to one of those douchey necklace stores and make each other a necklace..... whatever keeps the date interesting.

Trust me, I know movies for a first date is a bad idea, and if I could change it I would. Longggg story. I guess sometimes you just can't avoid doing the movie thing so I'm going to try some things that I think will work and give a report later.

I usually save the movie for my house. Ultimately it depends on her personality. Go carts are cool. Something fun that's different from her everyday life. some people go to the coffee shop/ book store every day. why would it be cool for you to take them there, you know? I dunno. we're all right.

Dude, i hate the bookstore thing as well.... its lame i know, but my thought is someplace where you dont have to spend money and you can get to know them a bit better...Dinner and a movie on a first date is like playing ping pong... Plyaing pool, you can neg her on her stroke and show her the 'proper' way to shoot.... Makes for great Kino. I also like thrift stores costume shops and shit like that... very high on the entertainment value.

I personally like bookstores for first dates. They're great for building rapport (seeing what she reads, what books you've both read, and recommending books and making her preview them), but the only problem is that kino opportunities are rare. Some I came up with:

*Take turns reading out of children's books (everyone's read Dr. Seuss). Put your arm around her waist when it gets to a cute/scary part. In the unlikely event she freaks out, make a joke about how you felt like a kid with his mommy reading bedtime stories again or something.

*Show her routines in books about PU or just a book of canned pickup lines. I know you might think that showing her Neil Strauss' book or whatever will blow your cover, but as long as you don't pretend to take it seriously, she won't make a big deal out of it. Show her the trust test and roleplay it. Just make sure you kiss-close with something else. =P
