i've been practicing pua techniques for a few months now and this seems to be a sticking point of mine: after getting the girls' info how do i set up a date? here's my story:

i met a hired gun 7.5 (an international student) at a cafe last week and asked if she wanted to be my conversational partner. she agreed and gave me her phone number

2 days later i called her and left a generic message. no reply. 2 more days later i call, but the phone number is out of service wtf? i think fake number, oh well.

today i go to the cafe and i see her working there. she tells me she got my message but her phone got discontinued. i act like it's no big deal, saying i've been busy anyway. she asks if we should meet after finals (which is two weeks from now); i say i can't i wont be in town. so i offer to meet her two days from now, but she declines b/c she says she's busy.

i take a seat in the cafe and read a bit. 5 minutes later she comes up to me and says "i'm leaving, but let me give u my email address". i take it and she leaves

now my question is, how do i set up the next date? should i try to set it up via email, or should i just go back to the cafe and ask her to hang out after she gets off work? i read somewhere that setting up meetings via voicemail was bad, so it seems like email might be a bad idea as well. personally i feel that if i ask her out on the spot it will work because it's spontaneous.

what do u guys think?

I would go into the coffee shop and make it seem like a surprise you saw her...depending on how she's acting ask her out or wait til the next time you see her so you have the upper hand.

whait untill you see her again. voice mails are bad for setups but e-mails are too.

send something like "dear hb... I'm sorry to inform you... but.. I went to this other coffee shop today, and I dunno if I'll be seeing you anymore... unless you wanna come to THAT coffee shop and see what I'm talking about.

I dunno... it might work.. if it doesn't, you can go find another hb and try something else that will.

I know this is an old post but maybe my thought will help since the other posters did even take the time to articulate (yes I have no idea what you two were talking about)


Humm... When I detect flakiness I make the HB contact me and make arrangements to meet up. I'll try once or twice too meet up with her, but before try three I put it all on them. This makes her commit and prize you, also it makes you come across as being less pushy (huh never thougth about it that way, but it's a push/pull date setup) I tell them "I have some things i have to take care of, let me know when or where you want to meet and we'll go from there." This works more often then not.
