Have been doing a reasonable job gaming an HB8/9 the past couple of days. Today one of her friends happened to call me 'manly matty' (in an ironic way :? ) I joined in on the joke to an extent but didn't encourage it.

Was this the right thing to do?

I don't want the nickname to stick as it is not altogehter flattering and I don't want the idea to swell in her mind. Right idea? How should I react?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

I would play along. Usually, the more you show that you don't care, the less chance of it sticking. Whenever she said it, you could flex so everyone could see, thus making people look towards your group and embarrassing herself and you. Eventually, she won't like the attention caused by your actions triggered by the saying of the name and she will stop saying it.

Some other people probably have better advice, but that is what I would do off the top of my head real quick.

What do you mean by an ironic way?

Because in my opinion just hearing "Manly Matty" makes me think of a good nickname. Think about it...her friend called you manly...women like manly men not sissy men.

So i would have played along, replied something like "Oh I'm the manlyest" and give her a sly smile. And then I would have giving her friend a nickname

Unless by an "ironic way" you meant she was making fun of you cause you couldn't open a pickle jar or something like that. but even if so i'd still play along.

That is what I meant. Ironic, I am guessing, means sarcastic... which implies that she thinks you are a sissy. So I would shake that nickname.
