hi doc..i have a typical newbie question for u to answer..thnz a lot, now to the question.
How should i get rid of a girl im going around with for around a year and a half.Nothings wrong with her...but i would like to go from year long stands to one nite stands.. i guess i drifted away from my karma.. ha ha...the problem being that we are in the same school..(by the way,im also studying to b a doc.) and it wud b very awkward for me to go arnd with a another chick in front of her...(i reside in india...and social scene is coservative over here..)..plz help.

The best is to be honest with her. You have to find a way to make her understand that you are not interested in a long term relationship at the moment, and that you wish to "play the field".
Expect tears and a lot of difficult questions, but work through this difficult breakup with her so that she can have closure. Chicks need closure otherwise they turn into bunny boilers. Being brave now will save you a lot of trouble in the future, and it would also retain her respect for you. Be available for her if she wants to talk, but keep it down to weekly intervals, and be very clear about the relationship being over. She'll move on soon enough. Good luck.
