Im new to this whole pickup artist thing. Im getting a last start at 36. Im a complete introvert and married the first girl I was with, and stayed married way longer than I should have due to my complete shyness, especially with the ladies.

After 14 years though I had finally had enough when I found out she became "queen for a year" while in Iraq. Here I am not even thinking about cheating on her because she was serving our country, and refusing to sleep with soldiers wives here at Ft Hood, Texas becuase they were serving as well. Yet at the same time she was cheating on me with the guys I was trying to give respect to by not screwing there wives.

By random chance I came across "The pickup artist" on TV. Ive probably seen it a few times flipping though the channel guid, but this time I was like "I'm now single and have no skills in talking to women. I better watch this" I had no idea it was a "reallity show", or if it was a selfhelp type of show like some of the others. So I watched starting toward the end of season 2 and then catching up with season 1 and 2 online. I saw alot of me in them, and even though I dont know if the show itself is real I saw alot of good tips that I could use. Then I purchased "the Game" book, that Im reading now, along with "The Mystery Method".

The book talks about Inet PUA groups. So I googled PUA and found this site. Ive been reading some post and watching some videos over the past week, while reading that books as well. So as you see Im a complete NOOB!

I have no methods yet. Im working on the basics still. I was joking around with the girls I work with and told them that now that Im single I was going to be a PUA and was learning from the tv show. They of coursed lol'd. One of them actually watches the show as well. So I told her she was going to be my wing. That works really well since I go out with her after work, more that the others, and she knows what Im talking about. The others I told to help me with my style. I suck at fashion as well. So they tell me when something I am trying doesnt work and whats wrong with it and how to fix it, or improve on what I am doing right with it.

Other then that Im practicing smiling and pretending like im confidant and just talking to people/strangers more. I actually went out the other day and used some of the lines of those failed pick up line videos, just to get used to rejection. Thats what I got to a ton of No's and LOLs. The fun thing was by the end of the night I was pretty much the center of attention in the bar in a good way. I was talking freely with everyone, and those that had shot me down earlier were now comming to me and wanting to talk to me. They had figured out I was just using the worst pick up lines ever and wasnt really trying to get laid. I had in turn became fun!! This the night after I talked to a 7 for about two hours just by telling her it would be dumb for her to leave, when she was closing her tab. I probably could have gotten alot farther but Im a noob and Im sure she will come back in to talk to me.

As far as my goals, I have the obvious one. I want to do what I missed out on when I was younger. Ive only slept with 3 girls in my life. Now I hope to be able to talk to the girls Ive dreamed about and of course close the deal. Eventually I will find the right one that I bond with and have a family

Other then the whole sex thing I think this will be a huge help for me in other ways such as networking for better jobs. Jobs Ive been passed over, even though I was way more qualified and skill, because someone else had the gift of gab. They were able to sweet talk there way into the job my work had earned. No More!

Im guessing this is longer than most of the "Its me" post. To be honest a week ago you would have gotten name, age, state. Well actually Ive been here about a week and until now I was hiding in a wallflower. So I know I did more, but its just part of me practicing putting myself on the line for all to see. What a difference a week makes!

Sorry to hear about what happend, after 14 years that must of been harsh to find out.

Anyway - welcome to the forum and I hope you find enough information here and from other resources to get the girl of your dreams!

I'm also new to the forum and although I have had quite a lot of success with women in the past, I'm now looking for more structure to the whole pickup process and learn different method.

Great if you've got a willing pivot to go out with you on pickups as that will straight of the bat give you some social proof and pre-selection qualities which will give you a greater chance of success in the field.

Keep me posted on your progress and if I can share anything with you along the way to improve your game, then I certainly will.

I originally started sarging back in 2001 with a buddy, who found one of the boards online one day after breaking up with his cheating girlfriend. I'm sure there are others here in similar situations.

From the things you talked about in your post--goals, influence on other parts of life, recent outings--it sounds like you have an excellent outlook! Stay positive and remember to always have fun with this stuff

Just to let you know I too have been in that situation and its scary as hell! but you have a great base to start from.

You are old enough to have experience of alot of things to use as DHVs, some friends who are girls who can help wing and you have come to the right place to ge some great advice.

The best advice I have heard was "go out as much as you can" sounds simple and yet its the best advice, it stops the thinking, you meet lots of people before you build up too much AA and you get comfortable in lots of different places.

Dont read and read too much, read some and try it out. Read some more and try those out, after awhile you will be posting advice from what works for you from the advice and stuff you`ve read.
