This is the first improptu-to-canned opener I've created since the disney opener. At my school they made a "red white and blue day" in honor of the election. My brother decided to show his support for Barack Obama by dressing in all blue. I decided to make it funny and come to school in all red. I decided to get a shirt with a communist flag on it such as China or the USSR. Then the trouble became where to find it. I picked the most obvious places such as Hot Topic, Spencer's Gifts, and Zumiez first with no results.

Then, as I was about to leave I decided to sarge with it. I approached sets saying "Can you please help me out? I'm wondering if any places here sell shirts with communist logos on them." They usually pointed out one of the obvious places which I already guessed to which I replied "I was just there and they don't have a clue where to find one. Come on! This is America this stuff should be everywhere right?"

I ended up making my own shirt but used this opener at another mall saying "I'm asking because this recent election has made me so sick of politics so I want to try something new." Then you can tell them that you don't know where the specific store mentioned is or invite them on an adventure to find a shirt that you probably can't get at your local mall. If any of you like this or have sucess in-field let me know.

Reminds me a bit of a Seinfeld episode where George pretends to be a Communist so he can get a date from a woman who placed an ad in the lonely hearts section of a commie newspaper where she wrote "looks are not important".

Nice but i don't think that would fly where i live but goes to show you anything can become an opener

a obama shirt is the same thing as a communist shirt....

I usually tell them that I want to find one with a hammer and sickle or a che guevera shirt and that usually starts a conversation.
