For example, I know that when I drive to a social event, i am more uptight than when i am a passenger and it carries over to the party sometimes, so i make sure i dont drive when i don't have to.
Anybody got any things you do to make sure you are in that playful mood?

I think a lot of us suffer from stuff like this. I know that when I'm kinda out of it or nervous I get all "slick" and "politician sounding." Thats my "uptight."
I think the best way to deal with it is to deconstruct it. I'm a huge fan of deconstruction in that it simplifies things. Rather than "add layers" and do affirmations or this or that to get rid of it, simply deconstruct why its happening to its simplest elements. From there, a lot of it will subside naturally as it becomes empirical/logical rather than something emotionally vested in you.
So, ask yourself:
When do I do that? (looks likd you've answered that already)
What exactly do I do when I'm in that state?
Why do I do it when I'm in that state?
How do I fall into that state?
What is the root of that state?
Do I feel this feeling anywhere else?
Am I relying on something to get into/out of this state?
etc.
Break it down and you'll see it for what it is. Then, after you've diagnosed it, (much of it will be gone by this point anyways) you can start prescribing methods to deal with it.
Note: Breaking things down, and forcing yourself to deal with why you are the way you are can be painful at times.
Hope this helps.
