I go up to a girl or group that are in front of the bar and ask them, what's a good drink to buy for a girl? and tell them that you want to buy one.

She'll probably ask you if it's for her

smile and gesture towards the back while maintaining eye contact with her and say, naw, it's for some girl in the back, and kind of make a funny face.

she'll give you the name of the drink. when you order it, make sure you check with her before you tell the bartender, this will make the bartender think it's for her, and probably make her think about it as well. when the bartender comes back with the drink, he'll slide the one in front of her, and she'll ask you, oh, is this really mine?

then you say something like, well, there really was a girl in the back but i think she's gone now, and i'm enjoying this conversation, so you just won a free drink!

i was in a bar about 2 nights ago and some guy was throwing a birthday party and the whole bar was like goth and i seen two cute looking hb 8's, i went up to them and opened with

nerd-I know, you two girls look like mmmmm.... Halloween Costumes
hb 8's- omg helll nooo, you need to get out of here
nerd- what? thats not a bad thing (lol, i knew i gave my self a challenge to pick this pne up)
hb8- ofcourse its a bad thing, what the hell man you just called us halloween costumes.
nerd- well not all halloween costumes are bad, you know they got the hot nurse ones, and blah blah blah

good opener trust me, i couldnt get the numbers though, 3 of my freinds came in the group and i knew that set was finished like the titanic

You see two girls dressed like that, the last thing you want to do is insult the way they are dressed. You ended up having to back track the whole time instead of run game. It really wasnt a good opener if you didnt get anywhere with them.

Instead use something like "Are you two shy?" they will reply no, then say "Well I have been here 10 minutes and you have yet to say hi to me." Classic and easy.

that is by far the worst way i've ever heard of guys trying to open rocker/goth girls. yes, they do look different and maybe even scary, but by doing what you did you made them feel like freaks (even though they might look the part). they are different from "normal" girls but they respond the same as "normal" girls to insults.

the set wasnt lost because your friends came, it was lost because you fucked up with your first line.

goths and rockers are generally easier to open directly (i know this because this is my scene) so something like what Chino said above works really well, often even better than any opinion openers.[/b]

Wow, Billie...just reading that makes me think perhaps your slightly bitter. Although some guys use PU to sleep with as many chicks as they can, I got into this to help me get better at social networking. One direct opener that I learned that's pretty good is.

Go up to a girl and say

"Can you help me with something?"

Girl- "What can I help you with?"

"Well I was interested in meeting you and I was wondering if you could help me."

They usually get a kick out of that.

Act as if you've known her forever and be sincere, yet playful. Smile 'n say:
"Remember in pre-school when I used to push you on the swing? And then in 3rd grade you used to come over and party all the time? Those were the days..." then ad-lib from there.
I got some weird looks until I figured out what context it works in; target must be by themselves, even if it's just momentarily to get a beer, etc. They need to have a 'playful' look on their face, being drunk helps. This can work as an opener, but it is MOST succesful when they OPEN YOU.

True Story:
At a resteraunt, alone, waitress walks up:
HB: Hey, nice sunglasses. Are those Oakley's?
JC: Heyyy! Remember in pre-school I used to push you on the swing? And in 3rd grade you'd come over and party all the time?

Here's one I just thought of. I haven't had time to try it out yet but as soon as I do you'll be the first to know how it goes.

For this you need a wing. Approach a set and ask

"Hey me and my friend here were just wondering, who do you think, just by looking at us, would win in a fight?"

If the target asks if you're going to fight theres a chance to neg her by saying "of course we're not going to fight" laugh as if she is stupid and then draw her attention in again.
