magic is on the right track i think - in a lot of ways openers can even impede on your progression as a converstationalis and as a player.
i have seen many people see a target, and say 'hold, ill just think of an opener - god, i cant think of anything!!' and then they let it go past-
what should happen is natural flowing conversation
ie: 'hey, i like your shoes! where did you get em?
This same problem of natural flow is why MM is so shit - i believe it becomes to structured for the novice. You start to think...'geez, which phase am i up to.... oh thats right, i should start kino now....."
Although i see the great benefits of MM, those of you who have your dicks suck up mysteries arse have no need to argue here, but i just think with the evolution of natural game it impedes rather than progresses an individual.
try focusing on how you talk to your mates and think about it..
ie: you see a bloke with the funniest t-shirt on youve ever seen or with a country that you have also visited ... or anything...
ming: hey man, that t-shirts awesome!! where did you get it??
bloke in mall: cheers man - i got it in a shop down.......blah
ming: how much is it? i reckon my mates will love it if i get one!
bloke: cost about $20.
ming: thats cool man - i used to go to that store to get presents and shit for my.... (whatever)
this above convo is a little faggy - but wait - there is a point...
just substitute a bloke for a chick.....
... your not trying to poke her in the mall or get a hummer there and then - you are just having a conversation... and who knows where that could lead.....
