| This is how i got into this great, fantastic, and sometime damning society. This is my position on this movement that has changed many men's lives for the better, but also can be a blackhole for others. I got into this community like most people, by of course reading the most infamous book on this forum or any other PUA forum, the game. Even before the game, i read articles by dd on askmen and his newsletter which really helped, but had no idea there was this much information on the subject, and how well devoloped it has become, (the ahead statement is way overused but has to be said) it's truly a science. So much on this subject has been studied, researched, and discovered. There is SO much info on this subject, but this pleothra of information available, i think was actually a problem at first for me, as it is for allot of us new guys. Half way through the Game I downloaded every single book about PUA, every video, and everything i could get my hands on(digital hands anyway haha)! Luckily i was lazy and did not read all of it (really any of it, just MM, DD, JM and a few others) but the funny thing is, as i look back; when i was going to a camp for a week (im 19 by the way haha) i hadnt read any thing at this point, so i thought i might practice a little at camp, so the night before i flung open mm and got a few tech's and negs, and skimmed some of the material. That week i used everything i had read EVERYTHING(not allot mind you, but still), i would go out of my way to use every bit over and over, most did not work, but i got positive reactions from it! This excited me! I was hooked. The week afterwards i read and took notes on the main books, and planned on continuing with every single book i downloaded, thank god i didnt! After locking myself in my room for a few days doing researching this fantasical way of life i had discovered, my friends called me up, and said to go out with them, i hestiantly agreed (i had allot more studiing to do!) We went out to a party and i was so excited and thought i was going to dominate the scene, i was going to f close and watch my friends stare in horror at my master game! But the strangest thing happened...nothing. NOTHING! i coulndt do anything, id talk to a girl and was thinking too mcuh on what i should do and say, and either sounded like an asshole, or kinda a wierd anti-social guy. I had not only reverted back but was worse from where i had began! The problem? Too much information. I realized this after a few days of freaking out and studying this forum and my then "bibles". I realized that i needed to start small and try to encoroporate little pieces of game into my original game, (which by the way was not that bad when i started) This kinda goes against everthing (and sorta with everything) that is written in all the books, be yourself. Most of you right now are cursing my name, shouting my ban from this site (prob not haha, but i like to think so;)) but with so much info out there, you must use it to "improve" your original self, i wanted to be someone completley different, and it did not work. I went out a little more after my first blunder, and found (after some very akward, yet funny convos) that i should still be myself WITH some improvements. You have to find out what works for you (through PRACTICE you keyboard jockeys, I was one of you, so i know what you are!! haha) Take for example, i have always been very sarcastic and cocky anyway, and am a pretty good looking guy (just found out like the hottest girl in high school had a crush on me!!! sucks i know) but anyway i found that if i was TOO cocky or TOO sarcatstic, it was a hell of a DLV, so i actually have to make fun of myself in a fun way while being cocky/sarcatic (or funny for you diehards) it has to be a balance, the making fun of myself makes me less intimidating and is actually a DHV!! i know crazy! but its all about you, we are all different, with a wide varitety of personalites and no particular "perfect" method that fits everybody. So i guess after all this ranting my point is "be your self, and use PU as an enhancement to your particualar personality, and practice to find out what works for you. And dont overload on info and theroies! my rule (not yours, stay away!! haha) is one book/video/system per two months if not longer! thank you for staying with me, in this rant, this might make a keyboard jockey for writing this haha, i just wanted to tell my story, and it kinda helped me sort out my thoughts.
