I'm in University again and I just transfered to this school, so I know no one. Now, back home I had no problem talking and opening people and just having a good time overall. Now I come here and all of a sudden, my confidence disappears and I get all nervous or shy when I want to approach anyone.
I think the reason it was so easy at home was because I knew I wouldn't be there for long (just for the summer), so I didn't give a shit what anyone thought about me. It shouldn't be any different here, but I just feel different about it. Any advice on how to get over the fear of approaching new people? I've talked to a few people in my class, but it took me a while to warm up and feel social.

Once you're truly a part of your university you'll feel like you own the place.
Second, you need to understand that in order to gain anything (e.g. social reputation) you also have to risk that same thing. Be the outgoing person that you are and approach fearlessly. What are you afraid of? Most people will like you, some won't. Thats just the way life is. So go out there and live!
