How do respond to that question?

Depends on the situation

If it's something like a 21st birthday, then the answer is "Well, as of xxx minutes ago, I'm just old enough for you to buy me a drink"

If you think your age will turn them away from you, then something like "My you're nosey aren't you?" or "Didn't your mother ever teach you manners? Never ask someone's age until you already know it."

"Take a guess" works well in all situations though.
--If she gets it, then you can pull out something like "Wow, right on! I bet we have a connection..." and then go into something else.
--If she is high, or low, neg opportunity. If a neg isn't in order, then a simple "Try again" is an easy response.
--If you don't want to reveal your age, you can do something like "Sounds good to me" with a nice smile to let her know she was wrong.

There was a good thread on this topic not so long ago, i think it may have been in building attraction and comfort.

If im getting some questions thrown at me and i hear one i dont like, i'll say something like 'what is this an interrogation, you'll be asking me for my pin number next'.
