Basically I got a couple of number closes earlier in the evening, but then I met up with one of my mates, (knows nothing about pick-up) and we went clubbing, I saw a 2 set (from behind.. gah) and went to open them, but my friend already knew them, so he introduced me to them, I just said hi and smiled. One was a 7, the other was about the same, I took one, he took one. I went to the bar with her and the convo went like this -

Her - You going to buy me a drink then?
me - Woah lets slow this down I dont even know you yet..
Her - What? The men are supposed to buy the women drinks.
Me- Im very high maintenence, you have to wine and dine me.

At this point she looked confused
Her - Is that like a pickup line you use?
Me - Ha are you serious?
Her - Well it just seems strange you don't want to buy me a drink.
Me - I didn't realise it was such a big deal, alot of guys get tooled by women who just use them for free drinks, I'm not one of those guys, sorry
Her- You should be more of a gentlemen.
Me - I am most certainly a gentlemen, I don't just buy all girls drinks right off the bat ok? I need to get to know you, like tell me something youve got
going for you besides your looks (I was trying anything on her)
Her - Well I'm good at art and spanish.
Me - I have 3 criteria for girls.. (Used a routine that I came up with with a friend)
Her - Do you think Im trying to impress you? What is up with you?
She walks off.
What did I do?
Newbie lessons to be learnt from this
1. Dont get drunk.
2. A bit of polite conversation is always handy before running routines on a girl.
3. DONT GET DRUNK (I could kick myself right now)

I think you did great, bro. I get the same BS from women who try that drink line, and to be honest, I simply tell them...sorry, I don't pay others for the pleasure of my company. If they use the "You're not a gentlemen" crap, I shoot back with "And you're no lady".

I know this may sound weird to you all, but women who EXPECT drinks to be bought for them are the kind of women I stay away from. Sure it's one drink now, but imagine what ELSE they will expect you to buy for them later on down the road.

Here's my theory on the subject. If a woman's company or attention comes with the price of buying her drinks, it's no different than a whore putting a price on the pleasure of her company. Well, actually, there is a difference: The whore puts out, and is probably cheaper than all the drinks you coulda bought for that chick at the bar.

I simply would've shined the set off and moved onto another set. Good call, mate!

In any case you clearly had several successes earlier in the night. Not sure if what this girl was doing was in fact a shit-test, in which case it could have been handled better. I especially like Infamous110's replies. But I'd hardly call this night a crash & burn. Sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose. But you just get better with time.

The best way to think about it is.

What do I do next time this happens. No need for the I crash and burned, next time I am not getting drunk and all the gibberish. Just putting yourself down.

The more mistakes the more you learn.
