Everyone says it. Just go make friends?

I'm having a realization here. I have about 20-25 friends. Thats not alot, and Im not liked by anyone else, they say either you love me, or you hate me.

I am also switching schools, so I will know no-one. So I ask you, how does one make friends? Im in highschool and do not play sports.

Going to be a sphomore, and not know anyone, what should i do to make friends?

If you're going to a big school, odds are there will be a lot of student run clubs that would be more then glad to have you join. If they have Key Club, i would suggest it..it looks good on your resume and a lot of girls were in it

Don't be overyly opinionated, don't be a jerk, be friendly, allow yourself to adopt the traits of the people you are currently interacting with (this doesn't mean conform to them, or not be yourself, just express the side of your personality that most closely matches theirs) and try to play things neutral until you can get a read on who they are and how to interact with them in a way that will befriend them. The problem most people make, is that they figure that they are who they are and either people will like them, or they won't and they don't have a say in it. Don't pick sides or cliques, be friendly to anyone and everyone, try not to gossip about people.

Be honest with yourself about who you are and realise that you have the ability to moderate yourself, you have choices about who you portray yourself as and if you have flaws, accept them and work towards correcting them, don't be stubborn and believe that you are doing your best and refuse constructive criticism. If you take a good hard look at yourself and some of those things aren't true about you, then work towards changing them.

Well you have 20-25 friends that love you, that's cool to me. I'm more the person everyone is friends with but i only have a few close friends. It's pretty easy.

-Be easy going, laid back
-Present your best self, don't try to conflict with everyone, try to smooth over anywhere you don't agree or avoid those topics

Well, you're going to be the new guy at the school, so that will generate interest anyway. Just be the intesting person that you are and things will be fine. Remember that you are a PUA and just look at the school as a huge set. Good luck.

All of the above advice I agree with, use clubs and be opened minded and friendly towards others.

If you wanna quickly gain a bit of a name...

Find the hottest girls in the school (every school has at least one group) and open them in the lunch hall, flirt openly with them if you're up for it, let people see your confidence and social ability and you'll gain a decent amount of social standing pretty quickly from that.

When you get to the new school try to go straight for the "cool" kids. If you don't like them it's a lot easier to go down than up, and new kids can fit in wherever they want at first.

Also OPEN MINDEDNESS is the key.

Sure, make friends with the cool kids, but make friends with everyone, don't stick to a particular clique.

Well a problem is.. the school im moving too isnt the best, so most the cool kids will be into drugs.


Im recovering from my own addiction...so anyone have advice on this?
