Why is this hard:

1. There is a lot of loud noise and if the train is moving you have to shout.

2. You can only really move while the train is stopped unless you like looking like you've just learned to walk that morning.

3. Everyone else nearby can hear you and she will be embarrassed.


Why is this an important question:

1. A lot of people travel to work on the train every day.

2. A lot of HB's travel to work on the train every day.

3. Do you need a 3?


I thought about this on the train this morning while gazing like a stalker at a very attractive girl just along the carriage from me. Normally, I can at least think of something to say, but this time I just couldn't work out how to get over there and open my mouth without looking like a desperate loser.

Any ideas?

Force her interest.

Make eye contact, stick out your tongue/wave/point/whatever. Providing you don't get spat at in disgust then you can approach when you're able to move and it's a lot easier to initiate.

Move up closer.
"So how much do trains suck when they're this/that busy?"

I personally would pretend like I'm on the phone to a friend and talk about something. Say something like "Oh no way you're so wrong. No no you're an idiot! Look, ill find out and call you back." Make sure she can definitely hear you when you say this. Then hang up, look around and 'see' her for the first time. Go up and run it like you would in a normal setting. "Hey guys, I need a female opinion on something..." and run it as normal. Steal a seat next to her if possible. My opinion.

Prob wouldn't work on underground unless you were trying to make it obvious that it was an opener to the HB (no phone signal on 90% of underground in London). Great for train though =D

If it's a train that doesn't have separations between cars, and you can see down like four or five of them, ask her if she's ever noticed that you can see the cars farther down turn and it's a pretty cool/weird effect. I noticed this in Rome last weekend, and I had a girl stand up to witness it with me. Each time there was an elevation change or the train would take a turn, you could watch the cars in front move and sometimes go out of sight, and it was quite odd, honestly. Maybe this will help you out.
