FR#81

I heard about this brand new classy venue from Shine that is located in the very extravagant OpryLand Hotel, the place is called Fuse. I head over there about 10pm and meet Shine in one of the lobbies. We hang around admiring the area for a few minutes and then go to the door at the night club. We're quickly told that our t-shirts are out of dress code. Being that there is no sign posted I ask how I'm suppose to know what the dress code is. He tells me the website. I ask for a manager and get into it with him over this. My arguement is because this place is out of the way for most people on the first week open you'd think they'd say Okay you can come in this time but next time... Anyways, its really unimportant what all else was said to the guy by myself and Shine. It's going to take me a little while to go back there.
So we decide to head down to Demonbreun St. at Dan McGinnis and to figure out our game plan for the night there. I follow Shine there but take a phone call as he walks into the venue 5 minutes ahead of me. I walk in and see him seated with a 3 set. HB9 Blonde, HB8 Blonde, and some AFC looking guy with some fashion since. I order my beer, and head over to take my seat at the table. Shine and I greet typically like we haven't seen each other all night, and turns his attention to me. He then introduces me to the group. His Target the HB9 is a nice girl and seems to be into him for the moment. The HB 8 across the table from me I find attractive but there is something about the way she's trying to hard to laugh at stuff that is picking at my brain. Then there is the guy to my right who seems pretty nervous, so I decide to start with him.
So at the table & room it looks like this...I don't have the whole room memorized but you get the idea.
I shake his hand and find out his name is Justin and he just moved to the area from Sarasota Florida. He's trying to find a good place to do some hair styling, and for a moment I'm not sure if he's gay or not. He has small black hoops in both his ears, and he has a good fashion since. That hardly makes someone gay though. We talk about some good salons and I recommend him to a salon where I have a friend who works there. It's the more upscale thing that I believe he is looking for. Me and Justin talk and bullshit for a bit and I can see his body language change some to being more relaxed. So I go to the HB8, Chelsey. Sure I remember her name, but I say to her, "Who are you again?"
She tells me her name again, and I pretend like I don't hear which is possible since it's loud. She repeats again leaning across the table some. I'm thinking good in my mind. I say to her with pauses and delibrately slow. "I know....everyone's passion....at this table....except for....your own." She's listening intently which is perfect. She tells me about how she loves photography and getting that perfect picture. She talks about how once her computer crashed and she lost a lot of photos. I tell her about being in photojournalism in high school for the paper for several years. Then I tell her that I'm just like her being creative except with writing. She's starting to get into me, so I decide those two are good, and I start talking to Shine's target.
I get in a good conversation with her and it turns out she does marketing of some sorts for NASCAR, and she does give me her card. We're talking about your typical fluff stuff and I start doing some DHV stuff for Shine that I can. Shine at this time is talking mostly to Justin. I'm trying to make sure to keep Chelsey entertained too. Shine's target says something about not feeling well. I can tell that she's not joking either. Chelsey seems like she's having a good time, and Justin is starting to relax a bit more. The girls are whispering to each other and I look over my left shoulder and see this awesome HB9 with this gorgeous dress on. I tap Shine on the shoulder and point her out, he says, "Great Dress!" I tell him I agree and I'm going to tell her. I excuse myself from the table.
I walk to the corner of the bar and say to her slowly with pauses..."I had to come and tell you....that I absolutely....(have eye contact at this point)...love your dress." She smiles
still holding eye contact. I say, "It's so rare.....to find someone.....with an excellent fashion sense." She says, "I just got this today!" I say to her, "No way you're joshing me." I push her slightly. She kino pings back, and says, "I'm serious." I further say,"You seem..... like a good....and classy person." I say to her, "I'm here with friend but I had to come over and tell you this." She says, "Oh I'm here with friends too." I say, "Excellent then." She asks me for my name and she tells me her name is "Peggy" (ugh). Anyways, I say that is cool. You should introduce me to your friends its the polite thing to do. I get introduced to a lot of guys and one other girl. I then tell her she needs to meet my friends. I say, "These are good people. They are people that I trust with my family, and secrets. Do you know what I mean? They don't need anything from you or anything like that, they are just....good people." She nods and smiles. I put her on the arm and take her to the table to introduce her. Shine smiles at me when I bring her over. He knows exactly what I'm doing.
I've simultaneously DHV'd myself to the girls at the table and to Peggy at the same time. Peggy states shortly after that her friends are going to leave soon. I get her phone number and go back to the table. The girls ask where she went and I tell her well she's leaving and she gave me her #. "Girls, I have a serious question for you though....Isn't Peggy like a deal breaker name?" (They laugh hard) I say, "If you meet some nice tanned Italian looking suave guy and find out his name is fucking George, isn't that a deal breaker?" They are laughing very hard, slapping knees, and agreeing. I take a sip of my beer and say, "She was so close too but then that name." Shine agrees with me, and say to the girls that I'm picky. I notice Chelsey sparks up at that a bit. I am pleading my case to Justin and he's agreeing with me, and telling me how right I am.
So Shine's target is still not feeling well and she wants to go home now. I knew this was going to happen but didn't realize it'd be so soon. So I shake Justin's hand and tell him to call my friend at that salon. He's grateful for the help. I hug Shine's target and tell her it's a pleasure. Shine gets her # of course. Then there is Chelsey and she's making her way to hug me. She puts out her hand first and I take it gently and say to her, "Chelsey listen to me for a second...look in my eyes. I know things...have been very hard for you lately....I can tell. However....these things will get better....." She says, "You're going to make me cry." I say, "Don't cry....you're too strong for that. You're going....to get back to your photography. I'm intuitive about these things okay. You'll be fine!" She says, "Thank you." I hug her and she asks, "By the way, Where do you live?" I tell her, and it turns out she lives pretty close to me. She tells me she works at this tanning place. I tell her I get my haircut right next door and I'm going by Sunday. She says, "Well come and see me on Sunday." I ask her # but she says, "Well I'm suppose to be with him, so come and see me Sunday." I get a kiss on the cheek when Justin isn't looking and they leave.
Shine and I look at the other sets that are available and most of then involve several guys, but it could be done. We decide to head down the street to Tin Roof. It's raining and the places aren't as busy as usual. Shine and I talk about our other options but none of them seem all that good. I decide with my few # and stuff I'm going to call it a night. Shine decides he's going to continue on as it's only midnight. We split and I get in my car to return Kino's call from earlier that I missed.
Followup to this: I saw Chelsey on Sunday at the tan place, got a proper kiss and setup a date with her for tonight 6/16/08.
