It is merely a variation of the spells opener. Would be just as easy to work on as that.

I dont think its that bad, I mean if the magic spells opener works well then I think this one could work too, plus it will only come off as a pickup if you make it sound that way. Ask the question innocently and maybe add "like rabbits feet" You know those furry things people put on there keychains. This could get the conversation rolling easy, maybe make up a story about a lucky charm you had, could even make it funny like a lucky pair of socks or something

I think its a great opener

I recently got my ear left piecerd and came up with this opener, tell me what u think.

Me: Hey guys, I need your opinion real quick on something. Do u think that men who wear earings are gay?
HB:Either yes or no. Why do u ask?
Me: Well ever since I got m ear pieced about 3 weeks ago my mates have been teasing me about it saying that I look gay so I thought I would get a female opinion on it.

I could then build on this. For example
If she says no I could say what about if a guy had both ears piecerd would that make him gay? Then bulid on it form there.

That opener could work if you have a back story behind it. Really, any opener could work as long as your confident and interesting.
