As for your approach anxiety i got 2 exercises for you :-
a)Try saying hi to those you hardly know but do know i.e acquaintances.
b)Walk up to a random cutie and just ask her general stuff about the school or some teacher or some school programme anything would do (without the intention of hitting on her).
