No the lumber jack thing was a bad move, you should have went out dressed as SPAM, or no even spiderman, then you can use your spidy sense to guage how attracted to you she is.

You should have went out dressed like al capone and took a tommy gun with you, now thats really manly. Then you can take the weapon into the bar next time and dhv by flashing your piece. (note: i mean the gun not your cock.)
OMFG, this shit is funny! An axe? ROTFLOL WTF were you thinking? You gotta check out some peacocking videos on youtube before you pull some shit like this. Although, its funnier than hell. I must insist though, we really need photos! Ha ha ha...

I'm new to all this but I figure I'd give peacocking a shot. My ex-girlfriend left me recently for a car mechanic but she still agrees to meet me sometimes so I figure i'm in with a shot at winning her back. Anyway, I bought myself a plaid shirt, some big lumberjack boots and an axe for 'peacocking' and trying to look more alpha. I went to meet her in some bar last night (had to leave the axe outside - would this have ruined my character? - perhaps i should meet her in a park next time??) and she commented on my change in appearance (i havent shaved in a month either to look more manly) but other than that I didn't seem to leave much of a lasting impression.

How did I go wrong? I've always thought peacocking was supossed to be a powerul tool in any PUA's arsenal. So what's up here? She left me for a mechanic, and I know she always commented on how she liked manlier looking guys and I always felt I wasn't like that. Will this lumberjack outfit help me get laid at all or does peacocking only work for magicians?
OMG I'm crying in laughter right now, I was in tears!
A fucking axe, that's pure gold. Paul Bunyan looking for some poon!!!

Sorry this is just too funny.

I wish i could have been just to see the look on her face, when he stomped in dressed as a lumber jack with a big bushy beard, waving an axe around.

She noticed the change in appearence, dam right she did!

HB: There's something different about you, i just cant work out what it is.

This is the funniest thread I've read in a LOOONG time! I always wonder when guys with 1 post say stuff like this, whether they are making a joke, or if they are serious. God I hope it's serious. LMAO.
hahaha, i wondered the same thing cause it seems kinda unreal.

ok, peackocking (i think i fucked up the spelling) is about attracting attention, it should be a conversation piece, NOT a fuckin' costume. The whole lumberjack thing doesnt sound like packocking at all, it sound more like a halloween outfit that would just come off as silly any other day of the year.

and the axe.... haha, hilarius. this shit is classic.

If you were serius, and you really did do this, then i think you missunderstood teh concept of peackoking. try it again, but start off slow, like try using some eye catching shades or something.

You know, I really neglected to say, the most amazing part of this to me throughout this whole thing is that someone let you INTO a bar with the axe. That's the most incredible part.

But in all seriousness, if you're for real here, then yeah, there's been a fairly sizable misunderstanding of the fundamentals of peacocking. Do a forum search; there are LOTS of different kinds of peacocking, and plenty of pointers scattered among many threads.

The bouncer wouldn't let me take it in. To be honest i hadn't even thought about how weird it would look before i did it. I was just thinking along the lines of 'this is my new character and the axe is part of it'. Thinking back I'm surprised he let me in at all but he was pretty understanding. Yeah, I suppose in all honesty, I misunderstood the peacocking thing a little

Damn, maybe he really thought you were a lumberjack lol.

Misunderstandings happen. Peacocking is what it is...something to grab attention. For some people it's one particular article or prop and that really does the trick, for others (myself included) it's the careful cultivation of an entire head-to-toe look. Find out what your thing is and make it work for you.

Axe is overkill hahaha
And in my opinion you have the wrong impression of peacocking,
Big lumberjack boots will make you stand out, sure, when you are crushing womens feet on the dance floor.
Wear something that makes you stand out, but not look like a huge weirdo.
Like bright shirts, or hats, or interesting necklaces.
Work your way up, dont do anything your not comfortable with, cause thats the worse thing you can do

Don't ever meet a girl with an axe again. That's just REAL common sense lol.
Actually, its quite funny. But only if you are buying the ax when you meet. I was buying an ax at Lowes one day and there was this cute cashier. I put the ax on the counter and said, "Holy shit...I guess my friends were right about me looking like Paul Bunyan. Or maybe I just seem like Jason or some crap." This went over well, but didn't go farther.

If I only knew what I know now.

I actually thought you were joking, I was cracking up with laughter when I read your first post lol... but you seriously dressed up as a lumberjack with a fucking axe?

If I ever write a sitcom, I will give you full credit if I incorporate this into the script.

Same thing, I thought for sure he was joking. Hey man, s**t happens thou. However in the future you might want to choose a different hangout.

Anyways from what I gather peacocking isn't so much about changing something, it's just allowing whatever you've got inside to the outside. For me it's letting more of the darker part of me out, which tends to be the more alpha part of my personality.

My personal peacocking accessory is a Fedora.
