As well as sarging I do various martial arts, american football and I trick. (tricking is a sort of underground free form acrobatics thing)

Anyway, one of the best DHV's or even openers on this planet, is the I bet you a drink I can go outside and backflip right now.

The backflip is INCREDIBLY EASY TO LEARN.

I don't know what it is with you guys, but you all seem to percieve any form of backwards rotation as arcane sorcery.

It's honestly the easiest trick on earth.

learn it it'll take a couple of months at the most..

He means that you're trying really hard to impress them. Challenging someone like that is just a show-off thing to do and instead of it being something cool that you just pulled out spur of the moment, you are setting it up and making a big deal out of it. Instead of it being a cool DHV (as being able to backflip is), you end up becoming mere entertainment and look like a dancing monkey.

yea dude, i have seen this over and over again where guys put on an accent or do something cool (eg: backflip) and end up just being a jester to the girls that you are attempting to sarge. Once you stop the accent or backflip you're back to being boring in their eyes, because all they have seen u as is their entertainement

Thats cool that you can do a backflip, but there is nothing worse than a guy trying to impress you with certain skills, money, etc.

I mean you can always bring it up like:

You: do you have a talent?
Her: blah blah blah
You: I can do a backflip
Her: Oh cool...Can I see?
You: Maybe if you are lucky

Something along those lines.

You can totally use it to your benefit. I just think you are going about it in the wrong way.

It gets better.

That opener is gold.

'I bet you i can go outside and backflip right now'

HB: Great
HB: Good he's gone now we can go to the tiolets and do our makeup

Only one word will spring to mind, RANDOM

Here's an idea, get onto the subject of dance or something, and then introduce it, they will sometimes ask you to show them a few moves, then show them the flip.

CAUTION: Dont do this after a few drinks.

Also only learn this if you dont mind running the risk of breaking your neck.

I find it works well, I use it to tease,

Like once I've got them seduced I can just strike it up as a bet, in a tounge in cheek fashion; and they usually challenge me on it, so without warning I -to their complete surprise- backflip.

They generaly respond well, becuase of the said fact that it was so unsuspected.

But I have yet to try it as an opener.

if you already have them "seduce" why are you jumping around to try and further impress them?

I suck at this stuff, but I can't see a backflip, in the middle of a conversation, being anything but completely inappropriate.

It's not a regular in my arsenal, it usually comes up when discussing fitness, I find it's a useful thing to have. It only comes as a DLV if it looks like you've gone out of your way to demonstrate it.

I think people are looking at it as a routine on it's own, rather than a skill that shows physical prowess and is generally fun to learn and do.

That's because of how you talked about it originally. You said it in such a way that made it sound like you just walk up to sets and say, "Hey, bet you a drink I can go outside and do a backflip!" Which is try-hard.

This is a matter of the meaning being how people interepret it and not what you intended to communicate, so you can't blame that on us, it was due to not explaining the situation properly. I don't say this to be rude, but as a lesson in NLP, because that is one point brought up very early on in the study of NLP. Mastering the skill of getting people to perceive something just as you intended it, is paramount of becoming a good PUA.
