Hey what's up guys? I had just finished reading this very interesting article on the ego and self-esteem.

Basically the ego is your logical rational of WHY you should feel confident. In my mind i thought ...well i'm built...smart...can carry on a conversation..etc. But the theory is to get rid of these "why i should be seen as this way" and just have a self-esteem that doesn't feed off of ANYTHING that's external.

Up until today(probably since september) i'd always try and maintain frame in conversation...try to make sure it stayed interesting..would get down on myself for not making approaches but even more so wanted to pursue and prolongate conversation to "prove" that i could with anyone.

Today i had a few opportunities to talk to and try for a conversation with a few good looking girls but i just didn't feel a "want" to. It's almost as if w/o this "need" to prove that i can carry on a conversation....i then lose the DESIRE to have a conversation for conversation's sake.

With friends it was different b/c they are my friends b/c i'm interested in them in people and therefore felt a WANT to hear them out. But with strangers i just didn't CARE to ask them about their plans for tonight...how they enjoyed this school's year, etc.

So now i'm stuck. I actually felt like i was confident in my own skin and didn't feel the need to prove anything(to others or myself) but that eliminated the STEPS in order to get to know someone.

Can anyone help clarify this and help me understand myself? Without my EGO telling me to "go out of your comfort zone" which in turn "proves" that i have the ability to force myself.....i don't feel a NEED to get out of my comfort zone or step into any zone for that matter, but yet felt confident in alpha body language, good EC, etc. Thanks for reading this and hopefully a lot of people can relate b/c this subject is what keeps people from being the people they want to be.

Thanks for reading!

Google "parts therapy" it changed the lives of almoast everyone I have taught it too. It will help you understand and clear up all of the emotions you are experiencing.

"A client experiencing an internal conflict is an excellent candidate, as might be evidenced by one who says, “A part of me wants to get rid of this weight while another part wants to keep on eating!” The personality part desiring to reduce is in conflict with another part wanting to overeat. This might be the result of one or more of several common causes: overwork, unresolved personal or family problems, past programming, unresolved past experience, secondary gain (such as protection from opposite sex), authority imprint, self-punishment, etc. Sometimes parts therapy is indicated after using ideomotor responses to questions to the subconscious about the cause(s) of a problem, especially if the responses indicate a “yes” for self-punishment, secondary gain and/or internal conflict."

Thanks for your suggestion. I read about it and it seems very interesting. I'm defiantly going to start boning up on psychoanalysis/hypnosis. Thanks again.
