this is my first non-mystery-method game. It was really late like 12:30; I was studying in the study lounge, high on Adderall, by myself. Then a HB9 I have seen before walks in with her computer, totally caught me off guard, I wasn’t in the mood of pick up at all. There were 3 other empty tables, each has power outlet nearby but kinda hard to find. She walked around and decided to sit with me. The whole time, I did not look up, I feel she was disappointed. No one talked for another 15 min. im getting nervous and tense, i thought i should open, and i thought this is not a social gathering place, so why don't i use direct opening. so I said:

Me: feels so weird that we are the only ppl here and we are not talking, just feels so tense.
HB: haha, I know.
Me: what are you studying?
HB: chem, but I was on facebook the last 20 min.
Me: haha, that’s pretty bad
HB: seriously though, you shocked me out of this, otherwise I would still be on facebook.
Me: …
Me: I’m doing econ, I have midterm on wed, and I’m so bad at it, so I took a pill and been sitting here the whole day.
HB: wow, I wish I could concentrate better.
Me: ……
Me: let me tell you a joke, I just heard it today, (then I told the joke with not so good delivery, I was a little nervous)
HB: it’s okay, not that good
Me: you tell me one then
HB: I don’t have one
Me: wow you are so boring (smiling as I said it)
HB: ……
(Silence for 10 min. then some guy walked in telling us the place is going to close very soon)
HB: wow
Me: when do they normally close?
HB: we are supposed to have another 30 min
Me: ……
Me: its gonna be a long night (as we were both packing our stuff)
HB: I know, (smiling) I took some caffeine pills too, so I ll stay up.
Me: I know some ADD kid, so I get Adderall from him
HB: I don’t touch that bad stuff
Me: I think I’m a little ADD, coz I can’t concentrate well; I would be on facebook for like … 2 hours (smiling)
HB: well I guess my 20 min wasn’t so bad (as she walks out of the door smiling)

I kinda feel like there is not enough negs, other than that, I don’t know what else I could have done. There is not enough attraction for sure.
I ll see her around for sure, should I go up to her and say “hey, you are that girl I met in the studying lounge with no jokes.” Or should I do something else? I saw her quite a couple times at the gym, should I say something next time?

ye thats a pretty good opener u shud have asked her if she wanted to go and get something to eat after studying instant date know wat i mean??

the next time u see her defo #close, tell her that she owes u a joke and ull giv her a text later with ur number nd u expect a joke, then just play it from here!!

ok how do i initiate the conversation next time i see her, i mean what if she doesnt make eye contact, should i go up to her and tap her shoulder and say hi? i mean, what should i say

i dont think that she wouldnt make eye contact, but even thou she doesnt make it, just go to her and talk with her. open with anything its not important. "Hi , remember me?" or the one u said "Hey you are the girl I met in the studying lounge with no jokes.” anything!. tell some jokes, interesting stories,talk! rock it baby!

I like how you paused a few times and she initiated the conversation again, IoI's all the way. I would have neg'ed her about not liking the joke all that well. She indicated she was going to be up for a while, great place to initiate an instant date.

You want to be bold? your next encounter where you see her and she has not seen you, act like you dont notice her walk past her so she has to obviously see you but dont pay attention. Let her open you, i have a feeling she will. when she does act like you forgot your chance meeting previously for a sec, make her validate. then "oh yea right, now i remember...you still owe me a joke!"

now if she does not open you keep on walking still like you didnt notice her. She will wonder why you didnt say hello to her. Then the next time you see her open her with the oweing a joke, act like its the first time since the conversation that you seen her. See if she comments on seeing you.

If you play it right the first time so she does not think you seen her your in, otherwise if you look like your just avoiding her on purpose it will be bad.

i paused, and reopened, she did not restart the conversation, that is the core reason i feel like the attraction is not enough

I see now, for some reason before i read it wrong.

However of all the places she could sit she sat near you, she explained that she would be up late (at those hours usually alone.) she said you shocked her out of facebook, which is good, sounds to me she wants you to distract her in a good way. Then the she cant concentrate comment, hmm if she wanted to concentrate she would have sat alone.

reading the end, i think she might have been put off a bit but not lost.

You want something simple i would go with Mr. A as shoveler said.

me i would open with:

Ya know what! i cant believe you still have not come up with a joke! do it teasingly and she will smile.

if she comes back and sits near you and does not say anything you could wait a few minutes and pull the shy opener along with the expect a joke.

are you shy? cause ya know, ive been over here waiting for you to come tell me that joke you owe me and you have not moved.

whatever you do, dont ask her if she remembers you... she'll think you HOPE that she does... walk up to her, and say, "You still owe me that joke", (smile) and go with the flow... if she doesn't remember you, that'll refresh her memory just fine...
