Okay so I just posted my first field report in the field report section. Short version is I crashed and burned on two sets. Then my friend and I hit the dance floor.

I am an American studying in Australia.

What are the best ways to get girls on the dance floor when the music is so loud you have to yell in their ear just for them to hear you?

Should I just dance and wait for them to come to me or show interest? Should I dance with or without friends?
Should I say something to a girl?
Should I just randomly go up to a group of girls and start dancing?

I see guys getting girls in this scenario all the time... it seems relatively easy to pick up on the dance floor with music blasting but I just don't cut it. I need lots of help. Thanks guys.

Hey man, Im also an American in London but i'll share with you what works for me...

What I like to use is a little butt bump. You see a girl you are interested in you dance around them and bump your butt into their butt. Just don't do it too hard! But it should def get her attention. Now you can do 1 of 2 things:

1. Bend a bit at the knees while leaning a bit back. Extend both your hands towards her, palms facing up with a sly grin cheeky smile. They will usually grab hold, but if she doesn't then try it on someone else.

2. With you main hand gesture for a high five. When they high five you back (they almost certainly will, unless shes a huge bitch-->who wants her anyways then??), you grab hold of her hand and spin her. That automatically gets you dancing with her and you can do whatever from there like say "show me your moves "

I've been reading this board for a while - so I figured it would be time I should post. When I was an AFC(I still am, just now I'm arming myself with info) dancing would be the easiest thing for me. I'd just dance near a chick and then eventually get her to dance near me and then it usually lead to her grinding me. However I had no idea what to do then, ie. this chick who had been grinding me for around 2-3 songs I asked her name and she laughed! Didn't see her after that, now I know I should have said something like "what else you got going for you besides those dance moves?"

That would be ok if you deliver it right and are confident/dominant.

Personally, if she's gringing against me like that, then I'm gonna start kissing her and then I'm gonna tell her to follow me and take her off the floor to number close, or take her home.

if they seem out going and dancy, just start dancing with them.

if they seem snobbyish they might just turn around and continue dancing.

give a certain neg when you start dancing with them 3 seconds after initiation of contact
