I want to hear your opinion on something i was thinking about.
Did mystery actually achieved much with those guys? I know you will be like wtf, he is the best, there was massive improvement... But hear me out first:

Did you noticed that final two guys were actually very good looking, the only good looking guys on the project? Coincidence?

Did you noticed that the only ones who actually kissed a girl were those two guys? Others were chatting at best, and yes.. one phone number of an average looking women 35+

Did you noticed how mystery saved those guys several times from elimination when they were obviously the worst? or even better how he changed the rules of the game and the winner on the contest could not choose immunity for his friend (as was stated before the contest). This happened because mystery knew he who he would choose and that would mean the elimination of the good looking guy. So he saved him.

It would be hard to announce someone a master PUA if he haven't even kissed a girl during a show, and i just don't see how, for example, fat guy could do it.

I know that these guys learned a lot and became more confident and everything, but come on i have much better results and still consider myself to be slightly above AFC. Wtf? they didn't even kissed a girl and there were WEEKS of training. I understand that this show was aimed to show that even the worst losers have a chance, but what did it showed? they have success to a certain level, but then the sexy guys win.

Well the big guy is now an instructor for Mystery, so he obviously knows what he's doing, or that would be a stupid move on Mystery's part.

I kind of got the feeling that possibly a lot of what they "achieved" was edited out of the show to keep it pg-13. Who knows though.

I see you point but have you ever wondered why don't "business" teachers at universities that have PHD and all the economics, business, marketing etc knowledge available don't start there own business? They get paid well? Maybe in your country, in mine they get very little. And even in you country they get very little in comparison to what they could potentially make with their own business. Having ability and knowledge to teach does not anyhow correspond with the ability to do what you teach... if my teacher example did not satisfy you them look at sport coaches, they rarely have achieved something big themselves but are able to teach world champions.

i really doubt that, if they could show a guy making out with a striper in a limo why could not they show how they kissed any girls besides the only two that were kissed during 7 or 8 or whatever weeks?

The analogy doesn't exactly work in this case. It's similar to a welding teacher, they HAVE to have great skill welding, otherwise they can't show you how to do it. A PUA instructor has to be capable of showing a student how to go about it as well.

I think Kosmo was an actor and Brady was a model...something like that.

I heard most of it was staged. :?

I have always had this view about mystery

and that is

I think the guy is a genius. And his method is amazing and i believe in it a lot and i think it works. However. I do not think Mystery is as good as people say. I have the utmost respect for him for developing it and starting it. But seeing footage of Mystery in the field has showed me that hes really not THAT amazing. He has better game than me. But he comes off a lot more wierdo-ish than sly. Matador in my opinion is a better PUA.

that said

I haven't seen the whole show so I cant comment too much. But no AFC learns to pick up over night and most of these kids seemed like they needed alot more work than just 8 weeks as does most people I think.

anyway. Mystery Method only takes you so far. Its one half of the puzzle. The other half is yourself, your presence, your personality.

these kids needed more time to develope that I bet

A Rye Lee said, the analogy is not perfect. Pickup Artists function much more as apprentices than as students. An apprentice learns not by instruction primarily, but by imitation. The development of modern institutions of learning as such is a relatively recent event. Prior to this, artists would be send off to apprentice under the masters, beginning by just sweeping floors and watching him paint, then by copying some of his work, then by copying his style, and eventually using the techniques and skills he has learned under his master to develop his own unique masterpiece (which originally was not an artist's greatest work, but the piece that distinguished him as a master rather than apprentice).

But ultimately, the education came from the individual's exposure and desire to learn, rather than from any ability of the instructor to teach.

As for the show being staged, I think it was--at least to a degree. The whole thing seemed a bit contrived.

By the way--did anyone else think the girls on the show were not hot AT ALL? The brunette in particular had kind of a nasty face, but walked and talked like she shit blocks of gold. The blonde was okay but kind of plain.

If Mystery was trying to properly advertise for it and make his system seem really effective, I would have thought he would have brought in some fucking bombshells.

After seeing seeing those girls i realized that what mystery considers to be HB10 i consider to be HB8.. 8.5 at best for the blond.

I think mystery's figure, abilities ans methods are a little "mystified :)"

Also i wanted to add that the show was planned very poorly, its structure sucked, well come on. The winner was called MPUA. MPUA ??? for kissing one girl lol. Have you seen them trying day game? that was fucking hillarious, and by the way i think stripper was an actress. Mystery would look like a fool if they would fail the strip game the same way as day game.

Also the episode of the guy making out with some hot girl in a limo was shown at the beginning of the show, "for the taste of things to come", it worked well as teaser and made me watch the whole show. Without this episode the series would be dead.

I was actually amazed at how quickly I could take someone with no skill at all and give them a good skill level over the course of just a couple weeks. I think it's perfectly plausable as a PUA instructor myself.

I think Mystery is a legend but the show was pretty shit in my opinion. Typical, over edited reality TV.

I'd have been far more impressed had Mystery managed to turn a real chump like Spoon or Scott into a player but instead, they were basically given up on and quickly ushered off the show to make way for the actor, the male model and the token fat guy. The drama element of who was going to be booted off each week took priority over everything else.

Between them, the contestants achieved fuck all really. A couple of kisses and you're a pick up artist? You could expect the same results from a weekend workshop. You'd expect a lot more with Mystery and his buddies showing the way.

Mystery is just cashing in at the end of the day but hey who can blame him?
