So I was sarging with my local meetup group tonight. We do it weekly, but I only recently began to try to use Mystery's stuff.

So I opened 3 different sets (at different bars) with the opener "Would you date a guy that keeps pics of his ex?"

First time, I had a bad set, right below some speakers blasting music, they could barely hear me, so it didn't end too well. I try to throw in the best friend routine, but they were like "wha?"

Second time, I opened a 3 set with that, it worked, but i was so sheepish I just ran out of the set, oh well. Possible sticking point to overcome...

Third time, I opened it and guess what the response was...

HB: "Are you in a PUA society?"

Got caught...

I tried the contingency method.

"Yeah, my friend wrote the book. What do you think about it?"

HB: "Yeah, I read about that line too."

Damn...!

But yeah, we talk and she gave me some pointers about using situational openers instead. I even talked about getting caught with my friend only yesterday. I told him that I would just try to switch the topic ASAP but in the heat of the moment, I turned crispy, lol.

The rest of the night, I was using natural game. It works, but didn't get me anywhere.

Still need more practice, but that's why we play the game.

I read the book "Unlimited Selling Power" which uses a lot of NLP for sales. One thing it talks about is, I think, something similar to situational openers. Saying shit that customers can only agree with, for example: "Sure are a lot of people here today." If there are a lot of people in the store, the customer cannot disagree. Say there looking at a car, "That sure is a nice care, isn't it?" If the are looking at it intently, then they must agree. It puts them in a frame of mind to agree with you. I wonder if this would work for opening sets.

Hmm, it sounds boring at first, but it probably will work. Just use open ended situation questions or situation statements. Stack a few together. I gotta try this the next time I do some night game.

Wait, do you guys mean you should open with those kind of statements, or use them in a set to make them agree with you as a habit?

I was thinking of using them as openers, as I notice many of my friends and myself don't use them. We either get too caught up with canned materials or just use some lame direct openers about the girl which ends up telegraphing too much interests. The girl will then show dis-interest by giving you a 1 word answer and soon you get shut out.

But as with any other openers, you have to stack if you want to pick up traction. She might not respond to "Its sure crowded in here." or she will just say "So?".

I'm thinking of things that I can comment on and use as situation openers in a bar:

-the crowd
-the things they are wearing
-the decor
-the bartender
-the music

Can you guys think of other things?
