You dont need any face products. After a couple of months i realized that i dont need any face product and i should stop wasting my money on them. I think that this list should work for you because it did an extrodinary job for me once i realized that this was it. Here is all you have to do to get rid of your acne (you actually should be doing all this already):

Shower daily

Eat healthy

Exercise Daily

Get a good amount of sleep each night

Live in a stress free environment

Wash your face a couple times a day (3-4 is a good number to aim for)

Thats it. I think i had thought of more earlier.. i should have wrote them down. But if i can think of anymore then i will be sure to add them.

This is true for most of us, but not all. Some people have a virus that causes their acne, which can only be treated through medication.

Another one to add is to take a MultiVitamin every day.

while those things are important to hygiene regardless of acne, you should be doing that stuff anyways lol

for me, i stopped drinking milk and my acne reduced like mad...seems like a lot of others have this problem too - reduce your dairy intake for ahwhile and see if it helps

I was lucky and never suffered with acne, but I think the key to it is realising when you need to give in and go see the doctor...

A lot of people suffer away just using over the counter products when their faces are so red they look sunburnt, despite cleansing, taking vitamins etc.

Just remember - you feel worried - go see someone...

Get some Viagra while you're there. That's always fun... :D

I have done a lot of personal research into acne and have really concluded that diet is probably one of the biggest factors. Milk or anything with milk will cause acne, aged cheeses will not though. White bread or anything with sugar will also cause acne because it will increase you GI and that makes sebum which is the acne puss. If you are really serious about getting rid of acne take out milk and and drastically reduce your sugar intake and have a big salad everyday. also I have found that washing your face twice with a basic scrub, nothing with medication and then using a topical works best. all of this has ellimanted my acne, of course I am almost 20 so acne decreases with age. but a lot of you guys with acne take a serious look at your diet

my biggest pointer is:

DONT TOUCH YOUR FACE. ever, just dont, the oils from your fingers contribute to acne. If your working out and sweating, use a towl not your hands to wipe your face. Another big one is wash/ change your pillow case at least once a week. (your face is on it for hours a night)

generic acne soap is a plus also (if it dries your skin get a different product)

cause dry skin can add acne also.

just my 2 cents

Moisturize your face with baby oil. It sokes into your skin and keeps it from being dry.

Also if you have really bad acne and are looking into medication. I suggest Acutane. Very potent medication, but can be hard to have perscribed. There is a lot of red tape to get it.

I used to work at a pharmacy and people told me that the metal zinc helps you keep your face clear, you can get some zinc tablets from pharmacys, take two of them a day.

Wash your face two times a day with a soap that is made for acne skin, and allways put on some moisturize cream after that.

Hope it works

bltjosh good job. i really liked that reply. when i think about it, i seem to touch my face alot (like resting my head in my palm etc) and i dont change my pillow case that often. thank you for that.

Also, in the case that you do have a zit DO NOT TOUCH IT. It just irritates it more and stays for a while.

I've always drank a lot of milk, in fact at my highest I drank upwards of 1 gallon a day. never saw it impact my acne. I had it moderately through high school and it has become very mild now (some black heads and maybe a couple zits). Currently I average almost a half gallon of milk a day. I do notice that consistently washing your face at least once a day does help a lot. My preference is cetaphil as it doesn't make my face skin ashy. IMO aside from common sense hygiene, acne is a great deal genetic, i.e. not much you can do unless you go to a doc and get some serious stuff. For a while I was using a creme at night called benzaclin and I noticed a great improvement in skin while on it and a demise when I would stop (just wanted to see if it was working).

My secret is moisturize. I'm so freaking surprise that not more guys know that. I had really bad acne in HS and just by moisturizing everyday (2x a day back then for me), I was able to get the breakouts to stop and then I suddenly (about 1 yr after) have girls complement me on my smooth skin.

Then again, I still know girls that have breakouts at like 25, so I guess it is genetics (unless she's actually that stupid not to moisturize).

BTW, 90% of the acne products don't work. At least they never worked for me. Just wash your face 2x a day, moisturize, done. If you really want to put on acne cream, don't lather it like moisturizer, it will dry your face and make it peel.
