Let's say a girl texts you because she feels insecure about herself and wants YOU to cheer her up, but is only semi-interested in you as a romantic partner and sees you mainly as a way to boost her self-esteem. What' the best way to respond to such a text?

Don't invest time in this girl. If your interested, wait out like 4 weeks with no contact. Then reestablish contact and see if she has changed. If she has, she's worth investing your time into. If not, don;t bother.

I know I, as a guy, have a girl that I see only as a friend, it started other way, but I guess I wasn't attracted to her enough.
Now, from time to time I contact her in times I feel I need a boost.
Still, I always know, if she responded in a right way I could start seeing her as a sexy b1ch again. She doesn't, she runs... won't try guessing why exactly...

So, am I wrong to think that if she can change this around on me only if she knew how, that guys can do the same in general? Like in this example... of the OP?
