Okay so what are some good props to use?

Recently my friend purchased a hat (he isn't good looking at all!) and he gets comments all the time on it so it's made me consider getting some props.

I have some oversized "geek" glasses which would be a perfect excuse for girls to want to wear them.

Any other props I can use?

Bracelets/Necklaces are always good, they are not so much for being opened with but when I'm in an interaction (sometimes start, sometimes middle, whatever) I almost always get comments on my necklace in-particular as it's quite distinctive. If you wanna go for uber-peacocking you can wear a "t-qualizer" (google it) or other stuff from this website called FlashWear (i think) I've had a few of their t-shirts and you will always 100% get comments if you're wearing one of them lol. Erm, glowsticks, bandana's etc aswell. Just anything slightly over the top really, but be sure that you're comfortable in it, if you're wearing a hat for example but aren't comfortable it'll show.

Although a thing I do sometimes is if I see a girl wearing a prop (let's say a hat) I'll go over and "steal" it, it's even better if you have a prop aswell and you can swap props with the girl(s) either to lock in or to assure a re-open later. It's just about trying stuff out and seeing what works for you.

Can't go wrong with a Cowboy Hat.

Almost always girls will be wanting to wear it, which is an opener in itself.

Don't wear anything that makes you feel awkward cos its gonna show.
