I recently joined a new band as the bass player. The lead singer is a very attractive girl and the rest are guys, all pretty good friends of hers. I've known her in passing for about a year but we just recently have become friends.

All the other guys in the band come off as very non-threatening. Many hugs are exchanged between them and this girl. I've thrown in a few fist pounds but have been wary of becoming overly sweet and huggy and entering the friend zone that the others seem to be in.

She's one of those girls who has lots of guy friends (orbiters, I suppose) and not a lot of girl friends. Not very prissy, but still quite adorable.

Rapport is not an issue. She really likes me and tells her friends I'm really fun to be around. I can see hooking up a few times with no strings attached, but the friend zone seems hard to combat in this situation. Being in the band I'm almost automatically one of "the guys." They're all cool people and all, but I'd rather be the somewhat aloof member who's been fucking the singer than one of the loyal pack.

Suggestions?

Hard one to crack my friend. You might compromise the band for this girl or get kick out idk. You can EASILY invite her for some 1on1 time ie singing and playing your guitar. It won't be hard inviting her over with some sort of plausible excuse. Just act like more than a friend. Be that lover, it is possible but it will need a mindset change in your brain. She must somewhat know you are interested in THAT way or else she'll keep you in the friendszone and when it is time you make the transition, it'll be too late already.
