Hi, thanks a lot for your advice, I like it!
A little bit update here, I texted her about this last night, and I didn't get any reply yet. I'm going to ask her again later maybe with an angry tone?
Quote:
Yeah, it's not like you're inviting her over to your house. But make it seem as if she needs to travel a lot more.
"Did you know that most Americans have never been out of their state?" And of course say that with a smile/playful tone of voice and then tell her that there's this BBQ and invite her.
And if she asks, "Yeah but where will I stay" (she's thinking that she'll be with you at some hotel or something.) So tell her, "We're going to stay at this place but can I trust you to behave yourself?" Again, with a playful tone of voice. This is a false disqualifier for you so it won't look like you two will do anything.
Also say something like "New York can get boring and stressful at times, everyone is in a rush to get to their office, etc. etc." This is an assumption which is true and makes you look pretty sincere as if you already know the everyday life.
