Two years ago, I posted my whole portfolio as an album on facebook. That was before I found out that anything you post on facebook is OWNED by facebook.
Well isn't that awesome...

As I mentioned, it's a good social tool. But at what cost?
The video above presents nothing but facts, I would hardly call it paranoia.
Please educate yourself a little before calling something 'retarded'. Read George Orwell's '1984 (in your case watch the movie...) and compare it to what you've learned from the youtube video.
It's something you'd expect from an oppressive, socialist, totalitarian government, not with democracy. It completely goes against our rights to privacy, something I highly respect.
Pervasive government surveillance is far from being a good thing... you mentioned 'catching criminals'. Now that's just bullshit and sounds just like something straight out of fox news.
If you don't mind being the governments bitch, then by all means sell your soul. I for one, chose to oppose it. Democracy will inevitably become, if it hasn't already, just an illusion of freedom.

I'd like to hear you repeat that sentence after living in eastern europe half a century ago. You know nothing about
fear. My parents and theirs' were oppressed by a communist regime for many years, the stories they told me shed some light on how a government can turn a beautiful thing like life into a miserable thing called
fear.
You disgust me.
Privacy is a right, but above all, it's a privilege. Unfortunately, some take it for granted.
