So they were creepy before and PU didn't help?
Your social life and your pick-up life has almost no correlation. A well experienced PUA can get chicks even if he goes solo in a bar/club. Making real, life-long friends, who would be there for you when you need them, is an entirely different thing. Pick-up is a game more than anything else...
I completely disagree. Pick-up can be what you make it. If you choose the lifestyle, then mixing your personal (social) life with your pick-up life seems obvious. What do you want, to live a double life? Fuck no, that would be stressful. Also, since my admittance into the community, I've found that a lot of my friends are pick-up artists who I socialize with on a regular basis. Also, if your not willing to make life-long friends in a bar, then you wont. I personally know quite a few couples who met in a bar and have been married for years. If you set yourself up with a limiting belief structure and give your self boundaries, then you'll only reap the outcome of your construct.
Now, to address Redrooster's question:
Pick-up doesn't change the man, the man changes himself and pick-up becomes natural. People who are creepy and focus on the tricks and gimmicks of pick-up rather than focusing on transforming themselves into great men who live lives that women want to be a part of, will remain creepy.
When dealing with the laws of universal attraction, inner game is extremely important. Having a well balanced state and dealing with issues that hinder your own ability to be happy can get in the way of pick-up. Ensuring yourself in these three areas can help immensely:
Health: Work out, eat well, be healthy. These things contribute to your mental health as well. If you work out, your less insecure about your body and your more confident in your physical being.
Wealth: You don't need to be wealthy per-say, but to handle your finances based on your means is an attractive quality in itself and it will reflect positively in your life.
Relationships: Not just with women, but with your parents, your friends, your co-workers, etc.
Human beings and our interactions are extremely complex. Pick-up simply allows for men who fall short in certain areas to develop those areas and make them stronger. It doesn't change who you are. It can however make you look at yourself and make you want to push yourself in new directions. Inevitably though, you are still responsible for you!
