Tonight on MSN someone told me they sometimes can't take my honesty.
I replied with, "Where have I been honest?"
And she said, "With all the things you have said, I dunno"
Me: "You are too fragile, relax" (trying to keep negging while being understanding)
her: I'm just self-conscious, I don't know when you are being serious or not
Me: Lmao, do you need a hug? XD (sarcastic)
I think I messed up there.
What should I have done?
How did she respond to the sarcastic comment?
It's really hard to respond to this because we don't know the flow of the conversation. Usually you can tell if you offend someone even on IM's, but it's got to be real time.
Anyway, like Hobbit said, if you just met her then sarcasm and disqualification is good. If you're trying to find things in common (build rapport), then cut the sarcasm and let her know a little bit about the real you.
