Hi all!

Basically I wanted to get some opinions and advice about gaming customers at work. I haven’t given it much thought before as it seems there’s not much working in my favour. I work part-time as a cashier (it’s only a job while studying but is the low job status a DLV?) so I have to combat job status, the daggy uniform, and being a cashier means there’s time constraints as well (customers in and out very quickly) so anything I try must be quick not to mention it can’t be too unprofessional. I presume a direct approach would work best but I’m not sure I have the confidence and it could seem a bit unprofessional or creepy.

What advice have you guys got for gaming in this environment? What sort of approach should I use, any routines (keeping in mind they’d have to be quick) or is it a bad idea altogether?

It's not as bad as gaming coworkers, or gaming girls who are working when you are the customer. But it's still pretty low percentage. Especially if (no offence) you are something like a lowly cashier. It's a low value job and it won't really impress many girls. Maybe if you are good looking and the girl is younger, she might not care.

This one time when I was a cashier in Florida this HB11 came in. I didn't even know that chicks could be that hot. It was actually hard for me to look at her face she was so fricking hot. I tried to hit on her and she was like "So do you ever plan on doing something else besides this? (in a sarcastic tone)" She was basically calling me out for being a loser cashier and letting me know that she would only be with high value guys who are actually doing something with their lives.

No offence taken, I know what you mean. I'm a currently at university so if that situation occurred I could easily laugh it off and indicate that I'm actually doing something with my life and probably throw a neg back at her. I don't think it's too much of a problem as it's a typical student type job so it would be wrong to assume I'm doing nothing, in fact most people would probably assume the opposite, the job indicates and makes it kind of obvious I'm a typical student working part-time. The job itself involves interacting with customers which eliminates any approach anxiety as you actually have a reason for talking to them and communication is expected.
Any ideas on what approach I should take? It also involves interacting with a lot of older women I probably otherwise wouldn't is there any specific techniques or approaches I could try with them as well?

I wouldn't advice you to game them in the "I wanna fuck you"-way, since you might get booted from the job if something goes wrong - and as we know, sets do go wrong no matter how calibrated and experienced you are.

You should try to (if no line) chat them up for a bit and practise your conversational skills. If there is a nice connection you will notice how the girl in fact will come more often to the shop (to buy a 1$ soda) etc. If there is alot of cash registers you can be aware is she is always going to the one you are in. Then you can take it further since its a pretty fucking solid IOI.

I would advice to take it very slow and don't go risky. Game subtle because, to be honest, there is places and times alot more appropriate to game - without the risk of losing your job.

Regards,
RTD

Thanks for the advice, I don't think anything can go too wrong, I've heard stories of other people actually flirting quite successfully while working in fact I got the idea after hearing a supervisor actually arranged and met up with someone after their shift. To be honest the job hardly requires professionalism. Obviously coming on strongly or being too obvious could be wrongly interpreted so I agree that it's important to be subtle.
I think if time allows just chatting them up for a bit and practising conversational skills is a good idea.
What do you think about compliments and then following up by asking their name?
