Never thought I'd be the one to become a "regular" at a bar, but I'm finding myself as one right now. It's not as sad as it sounds, this bar just opened a couple months ago and my roommate was asked to DJ on the weekends. I usually ride with him, have some friends join up with me, but sometimes go solo. It sounds expensive, but I've become friends with most of the bartenders and usually end up with a VERY low bar tab at the end of the night. I also play in an in-house dart league at the same place, where I drink for free because I am friends with the bartender and her boyfriend.
Like I said, I never thought I'd be a regular. I never get drunk, just have a constant buzz. I'm not even a huge fan of drinking, I almost never drink at home and sometime I just get a water at the bar at the beginning or end of the night. Everyone who works there knows me, so if I go solo I still have people to talk to. I even know the owner, he always shakes my hand and says if I ever need anything to let him know. We have played billiards against each other a couple of times. I guess you could say I feel comfortable here, which is great for getting in the mood to sarge.
The question I have for you guys is, how can I leverage this to my advantage? I have a few rules, one of which is to never buy drinks for girls the first time I meet them. Even though I can get discounted (free) drinks, I don't do it. Any ideas?
