Here's my situation.

I went out on a date with this girl I'm crushing on and I kissed her at the end. The next day I left town (my college) for two weeks to visit my hometown. She has sorority rush week these past 2 weeks and has been busy as hell with all the activities and prep that goes on with that.

Question is should I let her do her thing and text her right before I'm coming back? Or should I keep in touch? So far I've kept in touch every 2-3 days but last night is when Rush week actually started and she was kinda short with me....

SOO what do you all think is my best bet?

I want to introduce you to the art of texting.

Chapter 1: Pings.

A ping is a message you send which has no reason for a response. You send it to the target so she knows you are still alive, you are not waiting for a response, you are not trying to get a major response. Nothing but letting her know you exist and are funny.

What you do: Send her a funny text with "Call-back humour" so she can laugh giggle and have a short reply. Where you respond (if she does) something short and cute than leave cause you have shit to do.

What is call-back humour you ask, simple, its something that you can relate (thats funny) from your previous convo. For example, I made a joke with a girl that she was stalking me, I than changed the joke to make it funny that she was doing it cause she is a secret agent working for NSA or CIA and I am under security watch cause i am part of some ongoing investigation.... blah blah blah. So when I send her a ping I say

Sup Secret Agent, I kind of got caught up with the wrong guys, russian by the looks, think u can call in some back up ( --- Xx Mike --- If its the first text you are sending her sign your name here so she knows its u)

or

007 just got a call back from langley, they told me your fired, I dont know how to tell you so I figured a text would work

you get my drift, I am just making these up within 30 seconds, seriously they aren't hard to do. Just have fun with it.

So send her a ping (message) and dont expect a reply, and if she does reply quickly, than wait a couple mins and then send her something back then say after a bit your busy or set up a date.

Haha I love these. I use them all the time, I just didn't know they had a name or were referred to as "pings".

Thing is, she'll be busy all day. 9am to Dinner so would it be best to send one of these at night or is timing irrelevant at this point?

Best case scenario, I'm able to hang out with her or take her out once I get back this next friday soo I'll try to set that up. If not, I work with her Monday, a week from now when I go back up.

Any other good openers to send that'll make her laugh are appreciated haha

(Call back humor name) I just wanted to say goodbye, some alien race has abducted all the sexy people of (w.e country ur from) for experiments (please make sure shes from the same country as u otherwise just say the world) and I dont think I am coming back, tell my dog (if u have a dog something ridiculous here like pet rock) I love him/her.

Haha classic my dude. I've seen something similar back in the day. What do you all think about about these two..... Pretty Solid in my book

1. "Hey, How are you? I was having a debate with some friends and we were wondering. If youre at a party and the cops crash it, where is the most embarassing place to hide. The dirty laundry, the dog kennel, or the trash can?"

2. "Hey i was just thinking about you, wish you were here(so you could cook me something and do my dishes)"

First has plenty of opportunities to neg based off her response, not that a huge one is needed, and the second shows Im interested but also has a cocky and funny vibe to it. I'd love to incorporate somewhere in the text exchange that I'll be returning this weekend and we should hang.
