"On my list" pretty much ends the conversation. Unless she's so obsessed with you that she's looking for any reason to get you to talk, she's got no response to that or she'll say "lol". Put yourself in her shoes. If a woman texted that to you, there's not much to come back with if you weren't terribly interested.

I don't think texting is a conversation and honestly I hate texting and I think I suck at it.
The thing is that girls like texting and as I read here in the forum, it's better avoid texting as much as possible for the date and calling is the best option.
So in the case she doesn't respond to call, if I have some good text with response, I think it would make our life easier.

Option 1: "Chocolate is only for girls that can turn me on "
Option 2: "Hmm only have one chocolate, you're gonna need to kick all other girls asses for it"

You can see the point is making her qualify so she would invest more interest in it. I always go sexual with all my texts. So pick one as you see fit.

I keep giving you two option but really I would always go with option 1 Usually I do not reply to gnight text or one word response or emoticon response or the one I hate the most "LOL". I don't think those can pass as a proper reply, and I feel no need to waste my time on them. I don't have the habit of being nice to please people.
