Alright guys, so I went to put Gas and seen a new girl there that just started working there. So I tried to make a good impression on her and this is how the Convo went:

Me: Hi!
Her: Hi, how can I help you?
Me: I'm just getting some gas, 5$ on pump 5.
Her: ok, no problem!
(ok so now I sorta started being more direct)
Me: Hey btw, are you new here?
Her: *Smile* Yes, I am.
Me: Ohh great! I'm Ricky, did we just become best friends?
Her: *Laughs* Suree!
(She was reading a book so I commented on it)

Me: Hey btw I hv to ask, what book are you reading?
Her: It's a fantasy novel, it's sorta like Tolken.
Me: Haha, wow, sounds cool, I'm writing a book actually - I didn't know girls could be nerds too.
Her: Haha yup, trust me - they can be book worms too.

End.

So it kinda ended on a high note. I didn't really mess up as usual, so I am making some progress - inner-game and outter-game. So guys what could I have said that would hv gotten me a Day 1/Number Close.

What could I hv done to build attraction - a routine, a pebble a line etc.

Well you should be proud, she wasn't ignoring you, didnt give crappy answers, and I believe she smiled at you after that line. What you could have done next is built some comfort and asked a question about the book or the author and then tell a story about your favorite author and if she has heard of him/her. Then just be upfront and say "I really liked chatting with you, but I got to pump my car up, we should definitely meet up and continue this chat whats your number (hand her phone)...
