I aint no expert but I saw your video Ryan and, in my interpretation, that is hardly a direct opener. In my view that is about as indirect as a direct opener gets. To me a direct opener is essentially "wanna fuck", but your opener is more "you're hot" but you're not actually saying you want to fuck them. Indirect openers basically imply you want to fuck them without actually saying it (which everyone says is the flaw of indirect), your opener imply's you want to fuck them without actually saying it aswell, you merely come slightly closer to implying it, but at the end of the day it's still implied.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it doesn't work, all I'm saying is you're really stretching the definition of "direct opener" (IMO)... In fact I'd go as far as saying that you're opener is technically indirect. You open these girls to F-close them, but if the opener doesn't have a F-close element to it, then how could it possibly be a direct opener? You are direct about finder her attractive, but her grandmother says that to her aswell, but you are NOT direct about wanting to fuck her, so therefore it's technically indirect.
If there's such thing as semi-direct, then this is it.
As I explained in my post before
DIRECT DOES NOT MEAN TELLING GIRLS "YOU WANNA FUCK?"
Indirect = HIDING the intent of your interaction, pretending you're NOT hitting on them, and waiting to give them a compliment until you have "displayed higher value" and "built attraction."
e.g. "Hey guys, I have to get back to my friends in a sec but I wanted to get a female opinion on something..."
Direct = Making it clear to girls about the INTENT behind your interaction, being honest that you're hitting on them, and giving them an honest compliment from an assumed position of higher value and attraction.
e.g. "Hey, don't take this the wrong way, but you look amazing and I wanted to come meet you. What's your name?"
-> The point about being direct is that you're clear that you're hitting on her, and then you phrase the opener and continue the conversation based around whatever you want to get out of it. For me, I like to have multiple long term relationships, so I actually want to get to know the girl and see if she's cool over a date or two before I'll actually have sex with her, so I approach her with that frame - I'm interested, and now I want to find out more.
If all you want is casual sex, then coming in with a more sexual frame, for example "hey, you look fucking sexy, what's your name?" with strong eye contact, etc is fine. But I would urge guys to not specifically tell a girl you want to fuck her immediately. Most women, even if they might be interested in having sex with you at some point in the future, are programmed by society to HAVE to say "no" if you actually ask for sex. You can still be VERY sexual, from body language and eye contact and voice tonality to rapid physical escalation, but when it comes to verbalising things, actually making her make that decision that sex is going to happen is a TERRIBLE idea.
The most direct person I know is Alan Roger Currie, author of "Mode One," which has been a great inspiration to me and is a great book for most guys who are afraid of being sexual and being direct. Even his hardcore x-rated mode one openers do not actually tell the girl "let's go have sex now." What he does is basically dirty-talk the girl by telling her what he's imagining, i.e. his fantasies. This gets her to imagine sex in her mind. But not even he would say "let's go fuck now," because he knows it doesn't work!
A "
semi-direct" opener is probably something like what Yad from daygame.com does - he says "you look really nice," which could just be a nice guy complimenting her, and it could be him hitting on her, and she might not be sure. Since it's starting with a compliment it's kinda direct, but because his full intent is not being expressed, it's semi-direct in my opinion.
Indirect-direct is being direct with all your subcommunication but indirect with your words. This is useful if her peer group is around her, in high-end venues (e.g. a champagne reception in a hotel ballroom) where sexual conversation (let alone escalation!) would be inappropriate.
