It's definitely already been said, but I'll repeat it anyway.
Do lots of cardio - running, biking, rowing, kayaking, stairmaster, tennis, dance... anything that gets your heart going and your sweat dripping. Do at least three half hour cardio sessions a week.
Eat healthy. Take in less fast acting carbs. Limit your calorie intake. In general, don't eat unhealthy foods (you know what's unhealthy). Make healthy diet habits.
Exercise. The more muscle you build, the faster your metabolism will be, and the more fat you will burn.
