For daygame really, you can use both styles, now here are advantages and disadvantages to both:
INDIRECT:
advantages:
- Low risk
- You can immediately switch into different topics (you choose your topic from your type of opener)
- If you're in a group set, there are less chances that your target gets drawn away
- It works pretty much in every enviroment
- You'll probably have higher hit rate (btw that doesn't equals higher success rate)
disadvantages:
- Low reward
- After an opener, you need to work on attraction or you get pulled into FZ
- You can waste a lot of time, if she releases somehwere in the process
- You'll need to give her a reason for her to keep talking to you, so you'll need a lot of calibration (in direct she keeps talking to you, cause you showed her that you like her

)
DIRECT:
advantages:
- High reward
- You get attraction right off the opener
- You're being genuine, honest and confident
- You don't waste a lot of time (she m akes an instant yes or no decision unless you feels bad on blowouts, cause you'll get a lot of those)
disadvantages:
- You'll need to approach a lot of sets imo
- If your interaction lasts too long, she'll lose a part of attraction for you (attraction in direct is highest off the opener)
- Doesn't really works well for group sets
- It doesn't work in every enviroment (when ASDs are up, you're pretty much done with this)
I'm not really an expert on this, so this^ above characteristics are from my experiences with direct and indirect.
I think the best thing for you is to try both styles, cause really they are both just tools, there is no straight line between which one is better and which one is not. Choose the style that you see yourself compatibale with (altough I gotta say this, if you want to get a part of your inner game sorted go for hardcore direct

)
I personaly use both of them, cause both can hep you when needed, I'm also experimenting lately with the stage between direc and indirect, where you say something indirect at first, like: "Hey do you know where H&M / bank / time is..." and then I go into direct with: "You know what I just made that up, I think you're cute, so I came over to say Hi.", but no successful results so far
