LOL! wut?
Yeah, I'm not convinced. I've known too many women political activists. There may be a
statistical trend towards submissiveness, and it may be partly grounded in biology, not just upbringing. But to say that all women are submissive flies in the face of lots of empirical evidence. Of course men wanted to keep it that way for a long time, hence the phenomenon of the Glass Ceiling.
Nor do I believe that all men are naturally dominant. We may
statistically tend towards making war and killing people with swords who insult our honor, but I had a surprising conversation one year with some people in a newsgroup about that. It convinced me that not all men have deep martial / militant / homicidal instincts. The empirical evidence is the number of people who failed to fire their weapons during the Civil War and maybe even WW II, I forget. It was some incredible number like 90% failure to discharge. Explanation: despite a lot of people shooting in the vicinity, many just "didn't feel it was right" to take someone else's life. Now personally I say the hell with that! If there's a good reason to take someone's life, like they're coming for me, jolly well better believe I'd do it. But I've been made to realize that not all men are driven that way.
If you think about it, most men in human history have not been leaders. Most men have been sheep. Or more accurately, disenfranchised peasantry. Get too uppity and the leaders kill you. So it stands to reason that the Alpha Males would keep huge hordes of Beta Males around to grow their crops, mine their ores, and such. We romanticize the heroes like Spartacus who broke free of it for awhile, but most men in history kept their heads down and minded their place, lest they end up on a crucifix with 4000 of their comrades.
