Hey PUAs,

I was thinking the other day about all this theory and all these approaches and all these tactics we learn on the site and from the books we read and the emails from Gambler. I was thinking about all of this stuff when I realized something.

PUA isn't the only way. What you read on this site isn't the be all end all of success with women. This isn't the bible and you're not a prophet. You don't need to follow what you read on here to a T, you don't need to look at all these rules and follow them as if they are written in stone.

Look at most of your friends, people you know, acquaintances - everyone you know who has no idea about pick up, no clue at all that this community exists or that you are involved in some underground cult that tries to get girls. These are people that don't think about this stuff. Take a really good look at those friends that are 'naturals', guys that get all the girls but have never read a single post on pick up, or read "The Game" by Style.

We can try to explain why these guys are successful with women with pick up theories and posts and tactics and 'natural game'. Really, though, it just proves that rules are meant to be broken, and that there is more to pick up than what pick up says.

People on this site find a trick that works for them, they find some tactic that is successful, and they post the advice on here in an effort to help other people. This is fine, but you have to remember that what works for one person may not work for another. Always try what others suggest, but remember to take your own advice as well. No one knows you better than you.

You are always free to stray from the beaten path. Take your own turns, make your own footprints, and success will come to you. Rather, you will find success, as it is almost always hidden on the side of the road.

agreed. i know one guy that literally gets 10's at his fucking will. dude is mad short (like 5'5") but he is a handsome mofo (no homo) and his sense of style is impeccable. his brother is the same way. they just do, and cant explain how they do it(like most naturals) or if they try they leave big important gaps in their advice that ppl here stress over.

but im not like them, and i dont spend enough time with em to try and emulate them.

I partially agree with you Sharplin. But at the same time... These "naturals" don't need to know any of the written material and routines in order to be successful with women. In fact, if you carefully analyze a pure "natural", you will notice that they subconsciously are using some (so called) routines and/or material. Are they teasing the women and making them laugh? C&F. Are they telling stories about their life? DHV's. And so on. However, you have a point in what you're saying though.

Of course. However, for those who lack the confidence, taking your own advice doesn't always work. Hence why PUA is so popular to some people and is treated like a bible. Until you've reached a certain point, it is very hard to be confident enough with yourself to try your own style. That is why I believe Mystery Method is so popular. Personally, I'm still learning and cannot completely critique the PUA scene at the moment. But, I don't disagree with you, not everything can work for everyone. Certain things have to tailor to certain types of people.

naturals which never had studied PUA material or psychology don't even know what they are doing. they just unconciously pull the good moves naturally, but if they really see a girl they want they can't do shit because they don't understand attraction.
naturals developed beliefs about themselfs .. certain mindsets which help them - delusional or not it doesn't matter.

Part of what you are saying is good. Like, of course you should not just follow what people say blindly. There are a lot of stuff that isnt said in the books and stuff that is important to learn.

On the other hand, people here on this forum are of different skill levels. Not all of them are people who only learn a method and teach you what it says in the books. A lot of the better ones have been around and have taken inspiration from everywhere in life and tries to put that back into the PUA community. This is why the forum is such a great place. You get stuff you dont get enywhere else.

A lot of my natural friends who have never heard of the PUA community definitely understand the underlying interaction and how to talk to girls, and though they don't use the terminology, and they have to incorrectly label what they are to girls as "being a dick" or just treating girls "like shit" which they actually don't do, they just don't know how to explain what they learned to do.

Basically, they KNOW what they are doing, and have obviously found something that worked for them.

A lot of people hate on him, and it's for no reason.. I'm talking about Mystery and I'll tell you why:

The Mystery Method was not created for you.

In fact, double your dating, love systems, david x, any of these gurus. their step by step was NOT created for YOU. The only person that it TOTALLY works for is the authors of (respectively).

Like ALL things, there is a level of individuality that has to be possessed by the subject. All these gurus searched for information, found stuff, that didn't work, that did work, and that they just tossed. THEY made their own method.

I had a conversation about this with a friend the other night, and you really begin to realize this. A beginning PUA will subscribe to one methodology, and then over the course of gaining information, should really kind of stray way from it to an extent, and find something that works for them.

If you subscribe to a specific "method" of pick up, than you are SEVERELY restricting yourself as a PUA, and as a social being. because you are being something that is not yourself..

So in a sense, naturals are the EXACT SAME as decent PUA's, but they found information that wasn't in books, or online.. Just through real life experience, and did the same thing a good PUA would do, and really found something that worked for them.
