Ive come accros this a couple of times now when I was having a conversation with women.
Sometimes out of randon they use big words in a sentence, that no ones heard of then immediately after say, "do you even know what that word means?".

I then say no & look & feel like an dumb idiot DLV to myself.

What reply should I say if/when I next come across this situation

I'm thinking about throwing a neg back like,
"No unlike you I have more interesting things to do in my spare time than read dictionaries".

Reframe this whole situation- they aren't DLV in you, they are DHV in themselves. You should ask them if they know what it means and if they do they DHV themselves to you.
And if they do this more than once you should NEG (don't insult). Say "so do you spend all your time memorizing the dictionary?"

Definitely neg, it's a shittest from the more intellectual HB's.

Big words are cool with me, in fact when a HB throws them out and I correct or expand on their usage of the word, they look amazed. Sometimes you can decipher the meaning of the word phonetically. And yes, I did memorize a portion of the dictionary when I was in high school. Don't ask why.

Simple..i have a word i use for just such instances...works better the more involved they are with english.

word = insegreveous (in - sa - greev - e - ous)

You can us it almost anyway youd like.

Her: blah blah..sentance with big word...do you know what that means?

YOU: "It means your insegreveous, i cant talk to you anymore i knew it."

Her: ?!?!?!???

So your probably wondering what it means by now...the beauty of it is its a made up word, that sounds real and can be used in almost any sentace to help describe someone. Add an ending to it if need be (insegreveously, insegreveousness, etc).

Enjoy. I used this with an english teacher once who had a PhD in English. I used it maybe 20 times in a long papare...i got an A and she had a meeting with me after class to tell me she loved the word and its versitle usage...but was puzzled because she didnt know it and spent all night looking it up to no avail. I told her i made it up but thanks for the A. Was my senior project, 10 pages of bullshit i made up :P
