Allright, some of you might, and some of you might not have come across a gamer chick.

No, I'm not talking about a Female PUA, I'm talking about a girl who plays Video/Computer-games.

I've had my fair share of female gamers, but one mistake I continousley did was talking about games with them. I would meet them at a party, and as soon as I learned that they were gamers, I would switch the topic thinking "Hey! A common interest, this should be able to keep rapport all night." Now, I'm not sure if you've tried this, but talking about video-games in a sexual way without sounding like you're beating off to your character.. Shit's hard.

So after a while I started to understand, not only that you should game female gamers like every other girl, but that it would infact be more effective than regular girls. One thing we all know is that girls like guys who are different. So when you show up, and DON'T talk about games with her, she will be mindblown. I'm a trial and error kind of guy, so I decided to try this out. After a little rapport, she brought up the subject.

HB: So... Do you play any video games at all?
Me: Yeah, not as much as I'd like to though, don't have much spare time. * and I changed the subject.

A couple of minutes later.

HB: What kind of games do you play?
Me: Basically WoW, HoN, LoL or whatever I feel like. By the way have you bla bla bla. * Changing subject again.

AND YET AGAIN

HB: What characters do you play?

At this point, she was striving so hard for my attention, that I threw her a little bone, and went straight back to kino etc.

What I learned later was that (in her own words) "It's THE best way to pick up guys. Just talk about gaming!". When she learned that I wouldn't fall for it, she fell for me.


So this is all good. Landing a female gamer when you're out on town, or at a party is now a piece of cake. What about Day 2?

Ok, so you've slept with the girl, and she returns for a day two. Now this is where I'd like your oppinion. Do you bring up video games?

From one point of view, no. She plays video games with her friends, thus playing games with her is a highway to the LJBF-Zone. It's hard to escalate while gaming, and it's hard to be sexual while gaming. Then again, it IS a common interest which might spark positive emotions that she'll remember you by. So the best thing to do, would probably be to introduce video games after you've slept with her.

Now, I would love to get some oppinions on this, or at best a discussion going. My day 2 with the girl from the example is tomorrow, so what ever we'll land on, I'll try tomorrow and will bring you feedback.

I would say in your situation to play a game you are good at. LoL and HoN are team games so if you play a couple games and do good she will be impressed that you're good at everything she's seen you do. But if you played for hours together then you might end up like her friends who do the same.

Eh, I kinoed during my gaming dates (rare by the way). Every time a girl killed me in-game I would playfully beat them up, vice versa. It was fun and competitive. You are right though, don't play too much, keep it brief and move on to other things. You did well on deflecting and not playing into her questions so easily. It is normal to bring up video games if she likes video games, just know when to eject when you sense a conversation is passed it's high point. I personally believe you don't need our help, just keep on doing what you are doing.

Yeah, I've given it some thought and decided not to bring it up for the couple of first dates. This girl has guys all over her, both gamers and non-gamers, so I'll have to lay a solid ground work first.'

For the sake of the discussion though, do you believe that girls who game have a different mentality than most women?

I'm thinking along the lines of: Increased competitiveness, the increased need for rewards, the fact that they are a tad more socially awkard than most girls (unless you add alcohol to the equation). They are stuck with some of the traits you see more clearly in basement-dweller guys. I think that by pulling these strings you could run a little different, but a highly effective game on gamer-chicks. I'll probably look a bit more into the psychological aspects of the matter, and see if there is some major differences between gamer-chicks and non gamer-chicks, and similarities between gamer-chicks and guys. But if anyone has an input on the matter, I'd love to rant some more.
