It is incredibly easy. I can describe it in few words.

Keep things about yourself to yourself. Easy.

Don't share all your experiences, or skills. Don't let anyone to know your cards. Learn a new song on guitar, and keep it to yourself. Lay a women and keep quiet about it (don't brag). Things that we share with others we subconsciously mark as "non-secret" thus a chance for someone to attack us (remember, we are socially 10 000 years old). Our inner animal thinks (knows?) that we can use that thing in problems and it will surprise the attackers. Why does the martial artist walk around hoodlums confidently? Because he knows he can kick their asses - and that they don't know that. So he has an edge on them.

Simply said, learn something, do something, make something and keep it to yourself. Don't use it to entertain your buddies, for it is much more valuable.

I agree, I categorize what I'll share and with whom depending on the context of their relationship with me.

Couple of notes:

1) You must be sure that you are not repressing certain aspects of your personality. This leads to inner game problems.

2) You must have appropriate DHV material in the field, so some things about yourself must be shared.

I agree with roads, just one point to add; keep only things you consider VALUABLE to yourself. This is crucial, something you are proud of keep to yourself. Something that isn't as important to you can be mentioned without consequences.
